Seriously? I make low-cost vaccines that reached 100 million people, bypassed big pharma, didn’t make a dime, and saved 300,000-500,000 lives, and they focus on a junk food joke I made 6 years ago, this Rogan crowd, a bunch of candy-ass lightweights

Project IMG ™@ProjectImg

Huge congratulations to Dr. Alfredo, President of the Project IMG Chicago Chapter, on #TheMatch today! 🎉👏 In just 7 months, you accomplished what many think is impossible: ✅ USMLE Step 1 ✅ USMLE Step 2 ✅ USMLE Step 3 ✅ OET ✅ MATCHED That’s not just discipline, that’s vision, execution, and relentless commitment. Your journey has been a true inspiration to all of us. You didn’t just pass exams, you set a standard. You showed the entire IMG community what can be achieved when focus meets purpose and when consistency is taken seriously every single day. And now, matching into residency is the result of that same mindset. This moment is not luck, it’s earned. Dr. Alfredo, thank you for leading by example, for giving back to the community, and for showing others that it can be done, no matter how ambitious the goal may seem. Alfredo is also helping organize The IMG Event in Miami, and we will all be there together with him, along with many other residents who matched, to celebrate this incredible milestone on May 16, 2026. We are incredibly proud of you and honored to have you as part of Project IMG 🚀🌍 The journey continues and this is just the beginning #ProjectIMG #IMGStrong #Match2026 #USMLE #OET

Touro University President Dr. Alan Kadish remarked, “This award‑winning documentary reflects the extraordinary service to humanity embodied by Dr. Fischer, who helped bring it to life. By applying compassion and moral clarity to the urgent issue of gun violence in schools, the documentary exemplifies scholarship in the service of the public good and stands as a powerful expression of some of Touro’s highest values: knowledge guided by empathy, and expertise dedicated to saving lives.”

We thank @ACPIMPhysicians for standing up and advocating for the thousands of physicians affected by the USCIS pause. Since December, US-trained doctors born in 39 designated countries have effectively been blocked from every legal pathway to remain lawfully in the US and continue caring for patients: no visa extensions, no work permits, no green cards, and no path to citizenship, despite doing everything right and giving years of service to the US healthcare system. These are not new applicants trying to enter the system. They are doctors already here who completed residency and fellowship in the US, are board-certified in their primary specialty, and are already caring for American patients. Many serve in rural and underserved communities, where losing even one physician can be devastating. After years of training and service, their careers are being brought to a halt for one reason alone: their country of birth. Yet almost no one knows this is happening. Media coverage has been minimal, and organizational advocacy has been scarce. ACP was among the first to recognize the gravity of this issue. This is not just an immigration matter. It is a patient care crisis unfolding in plain sight. @ACPIMPhysicians @AmerMedicalAssn @Cardiology @Cardiology @AANmember @AAMCtoday @ProjectImg @ReichlinMelnick acponline.org/sites/default/…

The $100,000 H-1B exception must pass now. Stories like this are happening right now. Here is an example from someone that reached out to me today, She is a fully trained physician, residency completed, board-certified — who spent 3 years serving in an underserved community as a primary care doctor, caring for thousands of patients… is now being forced to stop practicing. Why? Because no hospital is willing to pay a $100,000 H-1B fee. These are not hypothetical cases. These are real physicians, with real names, happening in real time. At a time when we face physician shortages and growing healthcare disparities, we are pushing doctors out of the system. Healthcare workers must be exempt from this policy!

We are not "Giving" these jobs to doctors from outside the US, they are "EARNING" them by having more research and higher #USMLE score and less whining and crying about "i deserve it because of where I was born"
Pitt ICE Agent Stan@md_eeznuts

@SeeFisch What a meaningless, irrelevant statement. No shit diseases don’t have nationalities, that doesn’t mean we need to give every high paying American job to a foreigner while American college kids can’t get jobs and 60% of American med school applicants can’t get in.

How is it your business to tell people where they should work? slavery is by definition involuntary. Those coming to the US make super efforts to get here, and when surveyed are the HAPPIEST residents.
Sudip@higg__boson

@SeeFisch I don't know why people around world so obsessed to practice in US, Colonial and slavery era in reverse gear!!

What do you do if you are an unmatched IMG? Only 6% of IMGs get a spot in the SOAP (600 of 9,000 applicants). If you can get it, I would DEFINITELY do a research job and if you can't get paid, do it 2-3 hours a day for a few days a week. and dont let the snowflakes tell you not to work without $$ if you have no other options

You went unmatched monday? as do 40% of IMGs and 8% of US grads. After the SOAP and 98% percent of US grads have a spot and the rest scramble in

@SeeFisch IMG’s getting American residency spots shouldn’t be a thing at all. American medical schools need to expand to the point where American medical graduates can fill every residency spot.

Is it really YOUR right to tell people what to do with THEIR time? what about IMGs unmatched, low scores and they desperately need a way to show their value? Can you count on a salary line with NIH killing funding?
Mohamed Elshamy@doctorshamy

Unpaid “research positions” in medicine need to end. Asking IMGs to work 1–2 years for free just to stay competitive isn’t opportunity—it’s exploitation. No US grad would accept this, and neither should we. Our work has value. #EndUnpaidLabor #IMGs
