Delta Tesseract

I spent a year as a monk at Tengboche Monastery after my work around Everest, and that place tore me down in ways I still don’t really know how to explain. I wasn’t Buddhist when I arrived, but I lived the rhythm of that temple and the Buddhist life. The cold mornings, the chanting mantra, the discipline, the silence, the endless repetition of simple things done with complete presence. That year taught me that the mind is mostly noise pretending to be identity. It taught me humility. It taught me how little a person needs. It taught me that silence is not empty. Silence is where the lie of “me” starts to fall apart. Then one day my master basically told me to fuck off and go to India. Not with anger. Just with this kinda brutal clarity real teachers have. He knew I wasn’t meant to stay there hiding in the mountains, wearing robes and pretending the path ended in that monastery. He told me I was Hindu. My path was India. The fire, the gods, the temples, the Ganga, the madness, the Advaita, the whole living machine of Sanatana Dharma. Tengboche emptied me. India showed me what was still there when “Jason” got out of the way. Some photos of my time in Nepal below.
