🧵 Trider G7 goes to Bethlehem, part 1: In 1980s Italy, the anime boom was massive. It was so big that Italian children's magazines rode the wave by publishing completely original, unofficial mecha stories created by local authors. This one in particular has always cracked me up. It features Trider G7 helping Joseph and Mary find a place to give birth, before calling in X-Bomber to warm up the stable with its lasers, joined by other mecha, including Zambot 3, Godsigma and Gundam! 😅 It's obviously only in Italian, but you can easily translate it with modern apps.

@joshleaves J'en veux toujours un peu aux personnes qui m'avaient promis des chorégraphies de toku et au final voilà les combats dans le film quand même... L'actrice qui joue sa femme porte vraiment le film sur ses épaules.

@torianis We all knew from the beginning that a full Maison Ikkoku remake was the endgoal of what started with the Urusei Yatsura and Ranma remakes. It is inevitable. I hope we can have a new adaptation of the Mermaid series with a proper ending, like what Mappa did with Tezuka's Dororo.

@karpbackup @HMBohemond But if G-reco takes place before ∀, then Bellri and Co are tainted by the sin of the Dark History. They waged a war that was part of the cycle of violence ∀ ended. I always thought that Tomino retconned G-reco's place in the timeline to free them of the Dark History's weight.

Bandai-Namco shows off the official Mobile Suit Gundam franchise timeline, and what do we have here? - Thunderbolt and Origin are canon with the main Universal Century timeline - Reconguista in G comes before Turn A - Unicorn is canon - Hathaway is canon with the Char's Counterattack movie Gundam Twitter in shambles.

@iftehehe Utena c'est peak anime fiction. La façon dont la série retombe sur ses pieds à la fin c'est magique, même si je met ça plus au crédit de la vision d'Ikuhara qu'Enokido. Mais sinon FLCL, DieBuster ou Dragon Dentist, c'est des œuvres réussies avec un pouvoir d'évocation fort.

@Tetho_mig j'ai vraiment besoin de voir utena pour voir si c'est si différent que ça, j'aimerais vraiment qu'il y ait un anime de lui a la hauteur de ce qu'il arrive a évoquer.. (et flcl c'est a part on va dire)

@iftehehe Ma vision d'Enokido c'est que c'est un bon scénariste quand il a un réalisateur avec une vision forte derrière lui pour le guider. Genre Ikuhara ou Tsurumaki jusque là. Mais quand le réal lui donne carte blanche pour cuisiner comme Igarashi, c'est souvent pas glorieux.

@Tetho_mig après star driver avait un peu le même problème, ça te fait miroiter une jolie histoire d'amitié entre lycéens, mais tu la vis pas vraiment au final, si ce n'est dans les générique de la série lol
