India’s textile sector has always been a symbol of sustainability, innovation, and circularity. I am pleased to release the Report on Mapping of Textile Waste Value Chain in India, which provides important insights into how India can further strengthen its circular textile economy. The report highlights that India generates 70.73 lakh tonnes of textile waste annually, with over 95% of pre-consumer waste already being recovered. The spinning sector has demonstrated remarkable efficiency with near 100% in-situ reintegration of waste into production. With increasing focus on sustainability, recycling, and responsible production, India’s textile recycling market is projected to reach USD 3.5 billion by 2030, with the potential to create nearly 1 lakh green jobs across the value chain. #Textiles #CircularEconomy #Sustainability
