@HeartOTXHeartMD Not sure, but this sounds like some of Dr. Welch's wisdom. Some of his teaching gets passed on to our residents every year when we teach ECGs during orientation. People who never knew him continue to benefit from his compassion and expertise.

#MedEd: When I was a first year attending, I told an MA that since a pt was > 15min late that I wouldn’t see them as that’s how I’d seen other senior docs practice. A colleague who witnessed said, “Do you KNOW the story about what that pt had to go through to get here today?” I ended up seeing them. They’d driven 80 miles of rural 2-lane highway to get to me. Still one of my best “patient friends” to this day. My colleague that helped me in preventing my mistake has passed away. I love him for correcting me/teaching me with kindness to this day
