every NFL quarterback has limitations some more than others, but I seem to really only hear about Jalen hurts limitations. The crazy thing about that is nobody ever explains what his limitations are lol the only thing they say is. “ he can’t throw over the middle.” which he has many times in his career. lol

The constant Jalen Hurts discourse is rooted in the reality that he was NEVER supposed to be this successful in the NFL. The media already latch on to who their guy(s) are and will move heaven and earth to make it so. Anything threatening it they will try to stomp it out.

Here is what I'll say about the Jalen Hurts article. He has had 2 competent offensive coordinators in his career. Both left for head coaching positions after Super Bowl seasons. He has also had 2 incompetent offensive coordinators in his career. Both were first-time NFL playcallers, both went 1 and done, and neither is even a position coach now. Hurts has limitations. He has preferences. Every QB does. A good OC works with his QB and meets in the middle to find what works for everyone. Two guys did that. Two guys didn't. The results speak for themselves. If you want to use those preferences to argue that the son of a coach, who also played for Nick Saban, isn't coachable, that's where you lose me. The article even acknowledges that both Moore and Steichen came in with a plan about how the offense would function, while lines were more blurred with Johnson and Patullo. I fully expect Mannion to come in with a plan as well and push back on Hurts' preferences when necessary. He doesn't have the clout of being a longtime coach or an experienced playcaller, which does make it a bit of a dice roll. But Hurts has a relentless work ethic, and after the way last season ended, I'd expect him to be more open to change, especially if it is coming from someone competent.

Honestly .. if we had a head coach who knew how to run a good offense and/or call plays we’d never see these type of articles but

@DiBonaNFL Read the full story. Blows my mind how these reports come from "inside" the eagles building or organization. Random reports talking about how Hurts refuses to do things but then we hear Brady and Manning say Hurts calls and asks them on how to improve as a qb. Makes zero sense.

Listen we get it Jalen was never supposed to be a starter in this league. Listen we get it Jalen was never supposed to be successful. Listen we get it Jalen wasn't supposed to lead the Eagles to a SB lose, then get back and win it something that hadn't been done in 28 years.

Here’s the last thing that I’ll say regarding the Jalen Hurts story that came out today: Jalen Hurts has started 92 games in the NFL. He has won 63 of those games, including six playoff games and a Super Bowl. Hurts has done so with two different HCs and four different OCs (Sean Mannion will be #5). We can talk about Hurts’ willingness to change and be flexible on offense. But you won’t find another quarterback in recent NFL history that has won nearly 70% of their starts and that has also dealt with the amount of coaching turnover that Hurts has. The NFL is a results driven business…and it’s hard to argue with the results that the Eagles have had with Hurts as their starting quarterback.

I have no issue saying Jalen Hurts needs to improve in certain areas. But calling him uncoachable while changing his offensive direction 6 of the last 7 years seems a little bit like a PR stunt. Stay tuned. The timing of this is calculated. #FlyEaglesFly
