BREAKING: The fiancé of a lifestyle influencer found “hanging from a door” in Zanzibar days after their engagement is being held for questioning following reports of a serious argument
Ashlee Jenae, real name Ashly Robinson, was found unconscious at the Zuri Zanzibar resort on April 9 and later pronounced dead at a hospital
Authorities say it appears she died by suicide
Police said Joe McCann, 45, has “continued to be questioned by the Police Force and his travel document has been withheld.”
Police also said the death is “related” to a fight the couple had at the resort, which became so volatile that staff moved McCann to a separate room “for their safety.”
McCann said he returned with a security guard and found her “hanging from a door.”
McCann is “just being questioned as a witness,” and has previously been told by police he is not suspected of wrongdoing, according to the BBC
