@WilliamClouston @technopopulist Most people don't follow politics as obsessively as we nerds....but they can spot an over promoted administrator completely out of his depth.
They've watched Leslie Nielson movies and recognise that look of uncomprehending bewilderment.

@technopopulist I’ve spent 3 of the last 5 days working on the SDP’s election campaigns in South Leeds. For the first time I’ve seen signs on doors saying ‘ ❌ No Labour Canvassers’.
I can tell you - many feel the Labour Party hates them, favours migrants and won’t improve their lives.

I beg to differ. It was Starmer’s response to the Southport riots that undid his leadership and, in turn, paved the way for Reform UK’s surge. Keir had little choice but to clamp down on the disorder; left unchecked, it risked spreading like a virus. But the manner of that crackdown mattered just as much as the fact of it. He needed to restore order without coming across as heavy-handed or dismissive of the concerns driving the peaceful protesters.
It’s on that second front where he faltered, and badly. The impression that took hold among many White working-class voters was clear enough: that Labour instinctively sides with multicultural cities and has little interest in their grievances. Worse still, it fed a growing belief that a two-tier system is being applied, one that keeps them firmly in their place. Labour’s ongoing failure to get a grip on illegal immigration has only deepened that perception. That, more than anything else, is what has done the damage.

Where it all went wrong for Keir: it was the welfare U-turn, not the Mandelson misjudgement, that undid Starmer’s premiership independent.co.uk/voices/keir-st…

@TheBritishIntel I've grown accustomed to a daily flush of governmental verbal excrement but this is a real U-Bend blocker.
Complete nonsense.

🚨EXPOSED: Green Party candidate Aziz Hakimi is standing in Haverstock ward, Camden Council elections on 7 May 2026.
This is what he’s posted:
• Praised Hamas as “pride of the sleeping ummah”
• Celebrated Israeli civilians being murdered with “Alhamdulillah” & wished for more deaths
• Called for US troops to be beheaded & stabbed as “pigs”
• Branded Jewish ambulance attacks a “false flag”
• Blamed “Zionists” for 9/11
A Hamas cheerleader running for office. The Greens have completely lost the plot.
No one who supports terrorism should ever be a candidate.
Disgraceful.

@KR3Wmatic Tell her you can't and she's probably already drawn a logical conclusion.
Tell her you're proud of her and to make the best of the one life she's been gifted.

@afneil I post this without comment.

Despite inevitable failure of US-Iran peace talks in Pakistan, President Trump is still in ‘declare victory and go home mode’ (aka being in denial):
Playing down the importance of the peace talks, he added: “Whether we make a deal or not makes no difference to me,” Trump said. “And the reason is because we’ve won.”

@toadmeister There's more than a few Brits who fell in love with the civilisation that's in their blood.
Trouble is, we get in trouble when we say we don't like diluting it with people who didn't.

Amol Rajan has said he is "very worried" about his children growing up in England and is considering relocating to India so his children can "fall in love with the civilisation that’s in their blood". dailysceptic.org/2026/04/11/amo…

@sharrond62 The Green Party has been captured by chancers and Islamists.
They've always had loony tendencies but now looniness is their entire rationale.
English

@juneslater17 @MoriartyJones6 Looking crazy is a good tactic.
It scares the enemy and confuses your allies.....until they both start to think you are crazy.

Why do the media take Trump so literally .
It's all in his book The Art of The Deal .
It's called the madman strategy.
Be outlandish, wild and unpredictable, aggressive.
Then give your opponent an escape route to save face
They'll come back to the table .
He's ruined their navy, flattened strategic points, caused a partial regime change that won't be getting any Obama style funding to ' regroup'.
(Obama sent $130 billion)
Israel hasn't got all its own way either .
He's shown Europe Britain and NATO in up for what they are ,appeasers .
He hasn't caused all this , previous administrations have, he's just cleaning up the mess!

@batcountry1980 It was actually recorded by Cavern favourites The Big Three. A powerhouse trio, signed by Epstein but forced to record music untypical of their brilliant live performances. They never made it but we're up there with The Beatles in '62.

@JohnWight1 Is that the civilisation that currently has people circling the moon or the one slaughtering its own citizens?
English

@theweeflea @dunloptiger @VorosTwins Seriously - can you point me to the proof, please. Serious question.
English

@dunloptiger @VorosTwins I understand that you think your point is both obvious and hilarious....but actually there is plenty proof - sadly you are utterly immune to that - having decided that there can be none..

@memorialdevice Mick Green of The Pirates.
Glaring omission. I suspect Wilco Johnson would agree with me
