THAMES VELO RACE RACE UPDATE In light of the recent announcement from British Cycling we have unfortunately had to cancel our upcoming road race. We will be in contact shortly with those who have already entered and will update if we reschedule for late in the year.

This weekend saw our dominant form at Abingdon continue with Yusuf picking up two wins out of three! In the morning race we had three of our guys cleaning up with a number of wins/podiums between them! More races to come in this condensed season and hopefully some more results!

Back to winnings way for Tom Coombe who came away with a Second place followed by two wins! We are hoping to continue with these results as the season starts again over the next few weeks #racing #cycling #britishcycling

@ThamesVelo can I politely remind you that riding 6 abreast really isn't on. Had to pretty much come to a stop on the other side to ensure that your chain gang had time to slim down so we could all use the road

Congratulations to new club member Nick Richards who has beaten the club 10mile TT record with a time of 21.17! Not to be forgotten Tom Byrd who road to a great 8th place with a time it 22.26. Well done guys!

@ThamesVelo I cycled through a red light the other day, I accept I should face an FPN but thought it is not possible to have points endorsed on your licence for cycling offences. I saw your chairman is an experienced barrister and wondered if you had any insight?

Another good weekend of racing saw Tom Coombe take the clubs first podium of the year picking up 3rd at Abingdon from a select front group with help from Pete and Rodney in the peloton behind. Well done Guys in some pretty horrid conditions!

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel today’s cyclo-cross race at the South of Eng Showground, Ardingly incase we get blown away #cyclocross #race #teamchamps

A 4th place for Tom today at Abingdon today with help from Rodney to bring part of the break back before the finish. A good way to start the road season!

The CX season has come to end with @MaxOConnor17 picking up 8th at the western league ShamXcross on Sunday, his best CX result of the year! #cx

Thames Velo is an amateur cycling club and as such our road race is held to support the sport and not for financial gain, so this year we have decided to donate any profits made from our road race to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. (1/2)

So to support this fantastic charity, we are donating any profits from the race to assist them and continue their amazing work!

Something we at Thames Velo are more than aware of when their services helped out our own Matt Jones when the worst happened during a ride last summer, and without doubt saved his life!
