@DominicTarason I still highly respect sandbox MMOs, though I think only Eve online and Albion online are the prospering survivors. Classic MMOs do feel the same for years now :/

MMOs really did plateau 10-15 years ago. Back in 1999, we got Everquest. I thought it clunky even for its time, but it was the cutting edge. 13 years later, Guild Wars 2 releases. And another 12 years later, Guild Wars 2 is still pretty close to current genre design standards.
