@ThanksAndQs

Iain. Came off Twitter (@anotheriain) for mental health; missed the ability to thank people and ask people questions; here we are.

I have compiled, as a reminder to myself, the fullest and healthiest list of appropriate responses upon encountering provocations and controversies on social media. Here it is:

@AndyAitcheson I'm guessing you're probably not talking about When Saturday Comes, the half-decent football magazine, which is my WSC; I'm also guessing I'm better off not knowing the WSC you /are/ actually talking about.

@baroquebird you can understand it better, it's clearer, if you do it the other way around - AIWFCIY to the tune of OIRDC. That makes it clear that the first six lines of AIWFCIY do work to the 878777 metre of OIRDC, but then there are still two lines to go - one 5 syllables and one 8.

@swade42 Amazing - I thought you must have wiped off whatever was there before and written both your names on the board!

@dcsandbrook @TheRestHistory At every line in praise of Nelson I thought of Fanny, his wife, who he treated so appallingly (as well recounted by yourselves). A not wholly admirable admiral. I wonder what Nelson's devoted personal chaplain made of his abandonment of Fanny and flagrant adultery with Emma?

On @TheRestHistory, our HORATIO NELSON series reaches its stirring, heartbreaking climax. 🇬🇧 GLORY AT TRAFALGAR 🇬🇧 As Nelson leads Britain's fleet into immortality, we tell the story of his last battle, final moments, funeral and cultural afterlife. ⚓️ linktr.ee/restishistory

@OmnibusTheatre do you have an emailing list? I may be missing something obvious, but I can't find it on your website, sorry.

@MetCC someone is fraudulently giving our address as their address, causing us to have unwanted and unnecessary visits from emergency services. What should we report this to the police as? Fraud? Identity theft?

Do you know how hard it is to find a leaving card that doesn’t say “you’ll be missed” somewhere on it?

@baroquebird My first thought was that that was a banana in a roll, before I saw the tweet you were quoting. I'm losing my marbles.

@baroquebird I was most impressed by your front row position, you high roller you. Is that in Germany? The first proper, staged opera I ever saw was basically by chance, in Zurich in 2008. I'll WA you a snip of my diary entry...

@ThanksAndQs Hahaha, no, I unknowingly got a front row seat, which was great except for neck strain from trying to read the surtitles!

@metcc now our concern is 999 responders (paramedics, but possibly police in some situations) will come to our house as a result of any such calls, at any hour. Is there anything that can be done to head this off? Thank you.

@MetCC hi; someone has recently falsely given our address as theirs to the NHS (at least). Paramedics attended our house today looking for him; they have a history of him ringing them from public places but being gone when they arrive; now they have 'an address' to follow up /

Neither one of them are self-promoting people, so I'll be the official hype person for this project...Laura over at blueheron.technology did an outstanding job with @PastorPerks new website! Head over to pastorperks.org to see all the hard work they both have put in!

@WeHaveWaysPod I'm inspired by IWM Wartime Classics to read more novels written, set and published in UK in 1939-46, seeing what they said, wanted to say, were allowed to say, at the time about life in wartime. Any recommendations from anyone?
