@NateBlanchett If you don’t believe she is the strongest candidate, then, yeah, you are bound to be frustrated that she will enter a primary you think she will win. You want the strongest candidate. But people who are frustrated—and think she’ll lose—I don’t understand.

@NateBlanchett People aren’t scared of her running because they think she’ll lose. If they did, they would invite her running to put the exclamation point on the fact that she won’t be president and we are moving away from that era of politics. People are scared she will win the nomination.

Let’s be perfectly clear, sure 107 days is an unusually short amount of time to run a presidential campaign, but it also saved her from having to ACTUALLY win a primary which if 2020 was any indication, would be no cakewalk for her to do.

We watched Trump lose by 5 million votes. Instigate Jan 6, get convicted it 38 felonies and he ran again. But we are suppose to dismiss Kamala for a 107 day emergency campaign? Gtfoh

@CenTexLib The last two term President we had was Barack Obama. Kamala Harris performed better than Biden and Obama (2012) with white voters. It’s minority voters you need to win back. I’m not saying you can’t do that with a white candidate, but I don’t think you need in order to win.

@DisinfoIsBad That said: there were far bigger, more important reasons to vote for Kamala Harris. If it had been politically expedient to throw borrowers under the bus, that would have been fine if it meant she won. But they didn’t, despite evidence it would have been politically expedient.

@DisinfoIsBad I’m pissed. As a borrower, who became a teacher, I knew the stakes in the election for literally every issue I, and even leftists claimed to, care about. We lost in 2024 and those elections have consequences. I knew, right then, my payment amounts were going to go up.

You did this. This was Biden's student loan repayment plan and you shat on him for 4 years. Figure out how you can look at yourself in the mirror, knowing what you did to these borrowers.
The Debt Collective 🟥@StrikeDebt

Millions of people’s monthly student loan bills will go from $12 a month to $842 a month. And that’s not a joke. Why? Trump is trying to force people out of repayment plans and into the most expensive plan. This will be a major drag on the economy and complete disaster.

@Ericrse37986 Nah. Just saying “left” doesn’t make you a Sanders acolyte. Those who consider themselves “progressive” are more clearly an indicator—they are far more likely to be “Bernie or Bust” folks or have abstained from voting for Harris last cycle. They’re, at most, 11% of the party.

future presidents both republican and democrat will appreciate and love the ballroom, you'll see your side weaken as its nears completion. your tds blinds you from this and its creates this very short term envy that your side didn't do it first. They used to do the events on the lawn in tents.

@Airdropdeez @trouble_man90 No social program has seen an increase as a result of USAID cuts. People are starving so that we can blow up the deficit and deliver tax cuts to billionaires.

@trouble_man90 Zero people have died from USAID cuts. The death's youre attributing to USAID rest at the feet of the governments in places USAID was necessary to save lives. The US taxpayer has saved millions of lives through the sweat of his brow. Sweat that could've helped their families.

More people have died from USAID cuts than in Gaza, yet you expect Gaza to be everyone’s number one issue. Why?

@Ericrse37986 To be a good, effective constituency, you have to make clear that there is some way to earn your vote. Even if you act in good faith, some politicians may do the calculus and find appealing to your group isn’t worth it because it costs more elsewhere, but it would be a good start

@Ericrse37986 And, even when you deliver what leftists claim they want, like Joe Biden did on student loan debt and climate policy, he gets attacked for not doing enough, loses voters on the left **and** those on the right, those thinking he went to too far to the left.

@AaronRegunberg I’m sorry, but having a guy promote ideas like “America deserved 9/11” isn’t super conducive to making Democrats seem less extreme.

The Dem establishment spent half a year blubbering about how we need a liberal Joe Rogan. Hasan's one of the very few "popular streamers whose base is young men" we have, and it's freaking wild that the very folks arguing Dems need a "big tent" are trying to push him out of the tent. So the tent needs to be big enough to include Big Tech and crypto and Wall Street -- interest groups whose influence genuinely makes our party's platform and rhetoric less popular to masses of Americans -- but not big enough for the exact influencers we identified as one of our biggest weaknesses. (Who, by the way, is one of the few streamers who actually consciously redirects anti-Zionist anger away from Jews as a whole.)

New: @hasanthehun is driving a wedge in the Democratic Party. @playbookdc surveyed 14 potential '28 Dem candidates, asking whether they would appear on a livestream with Piker if invited. Only 3 definitively said they would. Plus: my interview w/ Piker. politico.com/newsletters/pl…

@BourgeoisieH8er @katewillett And the inception of Zionism in the early 1900s is not what was actually proposed or agreed to by Israel when the state was actually established. Just because some people thought things before the idea was brought to fruition doesn’t really mean much.

@BourgeoisieH8er @katewillett I’m not uneducated on it. I just think that neither Israelis nor Palestinians should lose their lives or homes. They need to resolve this issue in a way that promotes peace and understanding of the sovereignty of both peoples. That will only happen without Hamas or Netanyahu.
