@ThatAKMusicMan To clarify, we use a combination of automated systems and human reviews to figure out whether content is violative. Details here: goo.gle/4tfOote We'll also pass this along!

@TeamYouTube My channel was terminated a couple weeks ago for ban evasion. My first channel was terminated unjustly for "spam and deceptive practices" when I never explicitly promoted anything on that channel. How can I resolve this?

@TeamYouTube I also strongly suspect that my first channel appeal was not reviewed by a human, which makes the whole situation infuriating.

@TeamYouTube I already tried appealing through youtube studio for my ban evasion terminated channels, but those appeals were unsuccessful. I can no longer appeal on my original channel as it was terminated in 2021. That channel isn't eligible for youtube second chances. What else can I do?

@illeity Bro should read Mark Fisher's Ghosts of my Life where he muses on the hauntological and the cancellation of the future in favor of familiar forms in culture.

The concept of "Database Consumption" sorted out a personal bugbear I've had for a while and explained a tidy set of narrative behaviors I've seen in my interactions with anime culture and its connections to other media. First, isekai remains a profoundly dominant trope. It collects a set of familiar ideas: The fantasy of leaving your empty present life, the gamification of your abilities, the fantasy of revenge for perceived slights, etc. The parts are collected and recognized, making consumption easier, and turning out reliable sales. Second, unsatisfying endings with the most recent, high profile example being Chainsaw Man. Because focus is on the elements, *how* something ends is irrelevant to a series. I've seen so many people comment on Fujimoto's "style", which in turn becomes the very database elements being recognized: Subversive narratives, tonal shifts, extreme violence, and others. Third, drawing on my own experience with Arknights stories: A lot of the stories that form the events are largely mediocre to terrible in quality, seemingly concerned with expanding the "lore" and "world-building" than having readable stories, sensible plot progression, and meaningful character motivations. The stories usually resolve by revealing a change in the world (revising a database entry) with the characters being mere cogs. It also explains decisions like keeping truly horrible characters alive despite their actions for merchandising opportunities or to support fanworks. Even the act of bringing dead characters back (as per Endfield) is just a means of recognizing database elements to make a new series easy to consume. This focus on familiarity also explains why there is a marked tenderness for nostalgia to older anime pre-2000s and not merely reactionary feelings. Everything seems so familiar because everything is being repeated endlessly with mild variations in form. People like to eat their favorites time and time again. There are more aspects to anime culture that "Database Consumption" can account for, but I put these three/ four down here because they're what popped in my mind on first learning about it. There is also nothing to act on from this knowledge. My preferences are already formed anyway; the moment I see a seasonal anime describe itself as "Mr Chud McNormal lived a sucky life, dies, and gets transported to another world where he's not a genetic deadend but actually a badass" I roll my eyes and look elsewhere. I wish that for you as well: That you encounter worlds that set aflame your imagination and heart, rather than jangling keys and bread and circuses.

Welp, channel got terminated today. I appealed, but don't have any hope it'll do anything. When that fails, I'll try teamyoutube here, but I'm not expecting much out of that either. Hoping against hope that teamyoutube will be able to make something happen for me.
