We were never an "illiterate" people. We just didn't trust the paper. Paper rots. Paper can be forged. Instead, our ancestors built a physical Blockchain using the Ofo, a biological storage device that held the "un-editable" history of a whole lineage.

Tocqueville’s insistence was democracy, at least, as practiced in the US depends on a deeper theory of belief in higher divinity.
There are many things, VERY many things, wrong with Mill’s harm principle. But this isn’t the place to go further.
