The cost to renounce your Nigerian citizenship has officially skyrocketed! You can't just say, I'm no longer Nigerian anymore. It now costs N5,000,000, while the application fee rémains N20,000. I don’t want to be a Nigeria 5 million Naira? No way! If you are serious though, here’s how it works: 1. Visit the eCitibiz portal. 2. Upload your Birth Certificate, Nigerian Passport, and Citizenship Certificate (yes, some people don’t even have one) 3. Provide a High Court Affidavit. 4. Submit proof of citizenship from another country, because Nigeria won’t let you be stateless. Your application is then forwarded to the President for final approval. Remember: Approval is not guaranteed the President has the final say.

To be clear, the commissioner is not in the Netherlands to look for investors. Rather, he’s there alongside the team from Geometric to acquire more turbines for the Geometric Power plant in other to expand the capacity of the plant to serve the rest of Abia state.
Akwa Ibom 1st Son@ukocarter

Otti didn't fly to the Netherlands by himself to look for these investors he sent a commissioner who by the was brought in from GE to serve as a commissioner. This is how governance is supposed to be.

@DrKalu_ It has not yet dawned on a lot of people that Uma Ukpai is no more. Wait till December. Luckily, the wife and children are still in the ministry. The whole East will miss him. He was really a great man of God.

@Isikotebuogbaya The undermined Jonathan, undermined Peter Obi, they're doing everything to undermine Alex Otti’s administration. They had no problem with Buhari. They had problems with IBB and Abacha . The devil wears Agbada.

Have you all noticed that it's the people from one region who are trying to undermine the outstanding job Otti is doing in Abia? They're the only ones saying "Is it only these roads? Is it only this? Is it only that?" I've never seen this level of inherent envy all my life.. 😆

This is how Tinubu is spending in Lagos. 1. N14 trillion on highways in Lagos. 2. N1 trillion on a seaport in Lagos. 3. An additional N1.4 trillion on Lagos ports. 4. $450 million for Lekki International Airport. 5. $3 billion on the Lagos green line rail project by the FG. 6. N712 billion for the rehabilitation of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA). 7. N68 billion for national information technology and infrastructure projects in Lagos. 8. N37 billion for power infrastructure upgrades in Lagos (Just Lagos). 9. 10000 bags of rice as palliatives for North East and North West. 10. Fridges, deep freezers, laptops, and sewing machines for South East. 11. South South still waiting to be recognised. 12. Tinubu is aggressively developing Lagos, aiming to make it the capital of the Ododuwa nation. He is eager and relentless. 13. He is pooling money from across Nigeria, taking loans in Nigeria’s name, but using the funds for Lagos's development. 14. Is this fair? 15. Is Tinubu the president of Lagos or Nigeria? 16. Why are other zones silent? 17. What Tinubu couldn't achieve as Lagos governor for 8 years, he now seeks to accomplish in 4 years as president. Funds meant for the whole country are concentrated in Lagos. 18. He gives other zones crumbs while 90% of the funds are spent in Lagos. Soon, they will tell us Lagos's economy is better than other states'. That's the plan, Ododuwa Republic. 18. Imagine what Tinubu will do with another 4 years as president; he might even return Nigeria’s federal capital to Lagos, judging by his current trajectory. 19. AT ALL COSTS, VOTE HIM OUT.

@247IGBO South Eastern states urgently need C-level executives from high-growth sectors like the banking, telecoms, oil & gas, tech, fintech, insurance, etc to drive real growth and transformation. Appointing political stooges instead is pure stupidity and a step backward.

True, Cynthia Erivo (of Igbo heritage) has won two Grammys—one in 2017 for The Color Purple and recently in 2026 for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance on "Defying Gravity" with Ariana Grande. That's major global recognition. The tweet was noting a specific gap in MOBO wins for Igbo female artists (a UK-focused award for black music scenes), even as Ayra Starr (Yoruba) took Best International Act. Different awards, different scopes—both achievements stand strong.

The Grammy Awards have far more global prestige—they're music's biggest night since 1959, peer-voted across all genres by the Recording Academy, and a universal benchmark for top achievement. MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards, founded in 1996 in the UK, are highly respected in black music circles (hip-hop, Afrobeats, grime, R&B) and a big deal for cultural impact there, like Ayra Starr's Best International Act win. But they're more niche compared to Grammys' worldwide scope.
