The Supreme Court just ruled that public school teachers can pressure students to join in prayer at public school events but can also retaliate against those that don’t join in. Religious freedom is dead in America.

Abortion care IS health care. It was so before this. And it will remain so after this. We don’t care what a far-right extremist Supreme Court that is in a crisis of legitimacy says. Your racist, sexist, classist ruling won’t stop us from accessing the care we need.

of followers and in reach. This account has also not been referenced by mainstream media and is not causing any confusion or responses from the public as it's reach is incredibly small. So it's ignorable. @ChandrikaCC #Response #MUCrisisComm

@mhw4bc @ChandrikaCC I like this graphic because it makes a serious topic palatable without taking it to the point of using humor. Also I like that this is a preventative communication that could definitely help families in the future.

@findley_tori @ChandrikaCC I could definitely also see the giving the audience option working for this. Also, I really like that in the message the explain the reasoning behind the declaration because that is often a point of confusion.

@ChandrikaCC The intended audience type of this tweet was emergency. It was put out for the community directly affected by the emergency. Two factors that are present in this message are presenting a concise message and repeating the main message. #Audience #MUCrisisComm

@ekm4hz @ChandrikaCC I really liked that aspect of Benoit's theory. As a student, it makes it a lot easier for me to digest something and be able to use it when I know it has been successful in real life and I can see that. I think that is why I really preferred Benoit's theory.

@ChandrikaCC When it comes to image repair, I believe that Benoit's theory is more useful because of the clear steps, examples and variations that are provided. Everything is based on real-life scenarios in which the steps were executed successfully. #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm

@maxjohnson3580 @ChandrikaCC I definitely agree with this. The other article focuses a lot more on stakeholder relations and an orgs reputation that way. But, perception is everything and while stakeholders are a big part of business, you can't have a business without the general public

@ChandrikaCC I find Benoit's article to be more useful because it specifically talks about image repair rather than just an organizations reputation. Following a crisis, how the audience receives the image has more of a direct effect. #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm

@ChandrikaCC I think Benoit's theory makes more sense to me and I think it's more useful because there is a list of real life situations wherein the different methods have been used which makes it feel a lot more clear and concrete #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm

@mhw4bc Hollywood has caused massive amounts of misinformation about mental illnesses, making everyone who has them into monsters or villains. Most of the time they are exaggerated well beyond reality and made into a spectacle or plot point, rather than a thing real people struggle with.

@kellybrennermu @ChandrikaCC I definitely agree with this one. As someone who has done work with journalism in the past, this is something that is a huge issue. Your headline is how you draw people into your story and make a first impression. This absolutely sends the wrong message.

@ChandrikaCC This newspaper cover is an example of a stigmatized message. It's connected to the mental health crisis & it may be considered stigmatizing because not every person with mental health issues is going to do something bad #StigmaMessage #MUCrisisComm

The fact of the matter is, it isn't that simple, and as this article explains there are a number of things that may cause or worsen obesity, and it can't be simplified down to just creating more gyms.

The trend is called fat shaming, and while few people do it explicitly, it is something that is implicit to a lot of our society. Fat people everywhere, myself included, have heard the sayings "It's just discipline", or "Just diet", or "Just go to the gym". (2/3)

@maxjohnson3580 happened in December. Several articles I found on it did highlight that volunteers are now reaching the town and attempting to help rebuild. So I think promoting action might help draw more volunteers and help remedy the damage still affecting that community.

@maxjohnson3580 I definitely think if this is discussing media coverage, expressing empathy is important. However, if we are talking about crisis management in general, I wonder if promoting action would be better as of right now. I looked up this event and it (1/2)

The city of Mayfield in Kentucky struggles as a deadly tornado strikes through town destroying around 50% of their historic buildings. Expressing empathy is the most important because this natural disaster hurt many individuals within the community. #CERCPrinciples #MUCrisisComm
