@tylerdefoe15 @ChandrikaCC I like this example. News sites are easily parodied and satired (Think the Onion) and I can admit that I might be fooled at first glance by this account. CNN needs to address this account because of that fact alone

@Ann2bg @ChandrikaCC AHH I was going to use this parody account until I saw that you used it. Great explanation of how the real Mizzou account could respond and the precautions that the parody account is taking to avoid causing too many problems

@ChandrikaCC This post from a parody account for MU could cause confusion or frustration towards MU administration from viewers who are not followers during the campus power outage. (1/2)

@CallieMCox1 @ChandrikaCC I also posted about the Cyber crisis currently happening in Ukraine. I decided to pick a government official who is speaking out about tech companies' implicit support of Russia. It was interesting to see the other side, being empowered through tech rather than threatening

Dear @nickclegg thanks for the responsible approach in moderating content and respect our right to counter the aggression. We use now the social media platforms to share what’s happening here, to look for a help and to offer a helping hand each other. @Meta serves the light side.

@Ann2bg @ChandrikaCC I think that your audience here could be those directly affected and within the at risk community as well as what you answered. It depends on which group they fall into based on what they determine their risk to be

@ChandrikaCC The intended #Audience here are those just outside the at-risk community. It charges the audience to be aware & “determine (their) risk” to see if they too could be impacted by hurricane effects. It is a concise message with a positive action phrase. #MUCrisisComm

It’s not just those along the coast that can experience significant, life-threatening impacts. Evaluate what you need to do to protect your home and family NOW, before the storms. hurricanes.gov/prepare #HurricanePrep #WeatherReady

@WDNulty @ChandrikaCC For this assignment, I was having a hard time finding a scenario to discuss and identify 2 factors from. I like how you incorporated ideas from the actual article mentioned, rather than just the tweet. I didn't even think to do that

@ChandrikaCC The #Audience for this tweet would be the communities outside of the immediately affected area of Tonga (Singapore). 2 of the factors from the same reading that are shown are a presence of concise info and action steps in 3s and 4s in the article #mucrisiscomm

The #Tonga volcano eruption in January is a reminder that Singapore is vulnerable to volcanic hazards & submarine eruptions in the region. EOS scientists @AndreaVerolino, @laurianechardot & @BenoitTaisne1 discuss the potential impacts of such eruptions. bit.ly/3ClVS58

@WDNulty @ChandrikaCC I also said that Benoit's theory was more useful for very similar reasoning. He gives broader explanation, making it more applicable to more crises

@ChandrikaCC Between the two theories, I think Benoit's is more useful. The real-world examples given and the comprehensible measures provided make his Image Repair Discourse more viable in a crisis #MUCrisisComm #crisisimage

@EmilyMIZ22 @chandrikac In my opinion, Coombs' theory was more focused on the organizational image repair (through asset protection) rather than image repair as a whole. Benoit provided clear steps that could apply to organization, individual, and more

@ChandrikaC I would find Coombs Situational Crisis Communication Theory to be more useful. This theory describes how the stakeholders respond to a crisis which allows the organization to form a strategy that protects their assets and reputation. #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm

@ChandrikaCC When it comes to image repair, I believe that Benoit's theory is more useful because of the clear steps, examples and variations that are provided. Everything is based on real-life scenarios in which the steps were executed successfully. #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm

@mhw4bc This situation is really tough. Stigmatization can be combatted by exposure (Like meeting someone with schizophrenia in real life), but the entertainment industry has created such a stigma that it is difficult for those to share their experience without fear of judgement

@WDNulty @ChandrikaCC There is so much irony surrounding this crisis as well! I saw this photo pretty recently and I think it further supports your idea of stigma

@Ann2bg I liked your justification for why this principle is the most important. People tend to trust the first source they see but established credibility can definitely be more informative.

For this reason, being credible is the most important principle. Here it looks like quoting statements from Kaseya, speaking with security researchers, and following efforts of the US Cybersecurity agency.

@WDNulty @ChandrikaCC Your explanation and chosen crisis here really justify your answer. A chemical emergency could affect so many people if the information is not shared so it is incredibly important to be first in this scenario
