Yet another attempt at revolutionizing warfare. I was sure the missiles would fall head first and activate their sensors, instead I was met with catastrophic failure. I should also figure out a better way to move this thing, it's way too slow.

@HLC_actual We sort of do— some boat toilets have a shredder/impeller around the bend of the toilet The shit goes in, gets turned into pulp, then gets sent to a machine we called the sanitizer (I grew up on a houseboat) that creates acid to sterilized it before getting pumped overboard

Maybe a stupid question but it’s 2026 why hasn’t anyone designed a toilet with a built in sink garbage disposal? To me it makes sense it runs for a few seconds with every flush, shreds the poo and the tp. Someone explain this for me

In 1948, 76 beavers were dropped from an airplane with parachutes. All but one survived. It started because beavers were causing problems in a small town in the mountains of the northwestern United States. The wildlife department wanted to move them to a remote basin deeper in the wilderness, but transporting them overland by mule wasn’t working. The beavers got aggressive in the heat. The mules panicked at the smell. Too many animals were lost on the way. An employee named Elmo Heter came up with something else. Surplus parachutes from the war. Wooden boxes designed to snap open on impact. Drop them from a plane. They tested it on one old male beaver they named Geronimo. He was dropped over and over on a flying field. Heter wrote that after a while, Geronimo just gave up and would crawl back into his box on his own, ready to go up again. On 14 August 1948, a twin-engine plane took off with eight crates. Over the following days, 76 beavers were parachuted into a remote mountain basin. Geronimo got the first flight. Three young females went with him. The only beaver that didn’t make it had chewed its way out of the box mid-air. When officials checked a year later, every beaver had built a dam, stored food, and started a colony. The original footage was lost for decades until an archivist found it misclassified in the state archives in 2014.

According to a release from the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), two Russian Tu-142 bombers were detected and tracked while operating inside the Alaskan and Canadian air defense identification zone (ADIZ). The U.S. and Canada launched U.S. Air Force F-35 fighter aircraft, two F-22 fighter aircraft, four KC-135 tankers, one E-3 AWACS, two Canadian CF-18 fighter aircraft, and one CC-150 tanker to positively identify, monitor, and intercept the Russian aircraft in the American and Canadian Air Defense Identification Zones. The Russian aircraft did not enter Canadian or U.S. sovereign airspace, according to the release.

This photo and the news (to be taken with a grain of salt) immediately reminded me of that time in 2013, when Iranian F-4 Phantom jets attempted to engage a U.S. MQ-1 Predator off Iran and were intercepted by F-22 Raptors escorting the drone. “He [the Raptor pilot] flew under their aircraft [the F-4s] to check out their weapons load without them knowing he was there, then pulled up on their left wing and called them, saying, ‘You really ought to go home.’” Some more details here: theaviationist.com/2013/09/19/f-2… BTW, considering the F-22s are now deployed to Israel, there’s always a chance we might see a sequel…
