I’m not gonna lie, palworld still isn’t competition for Pokemon. I get people are desperate for Pokemon to have a rival but come on. The extended time taken for WIWA isn’t even because of palworld. We know this.

@Draconic_Dusk Sure but also Pokemon isn’t just a video game. It’s a whole multimedia franchise and the most iconic/popular franchise.

@ThatTrainerD They're not even the same genre. But Palworld is outselling all but one pokemon game. (25m confirmed copies sold. 40m total players)

Sick of seeing this image,as Palworld fans don’t seem to understand that from Pokémon’s inception the monsters are inspired by anything in real life, pop-culture & myth. The issue isn’t basing a monster off of another monster and DIFFERENTIATING IT ENOUGH. My only issue is taking literal Pokemon models/assets and using them to make a Pal design. Or copying it 1:1. BUT with that being said, it goes both ways. This new Pal whale, “Panthalus”, is 100% inspired by Kyogre and that’s totally ok because it’s different enough to be its own monster. It’s like them saying, Pokémon has this cool epic whale, so let’s have one too. Some could see that as copying the concept, but the truth is all monster collecting games have done this to an extent. Palworld just does it the most and usually in a disingenuous way. It doesn’t help that they barely try to make the similar ideas purposely different looking, and they just have a really bad reputation for how they launched as well.

Honestly I think if you need to keep mentioning how better you are compared to a competitor, you already lost. The inferior complex is just too huge to ignore. Like I don't think I ever seen marketing of Mercedes-Benz mentioning "Hey we are better than Toyota plz buy our cars!"

@mccvrty @Walahute But it’s not cause we’ve seen how the game looks…. Again you just don’t like my opinion so now I’m disingenuous. Obviously I’ll need to see more but from what I’ve seen so far I love. Just my opinion.

@ThatTrainerD Idk why people think an arc survival game needs to be a pokemon rival. Maybe its because they dont support the actual pokemon "rival" games and think theres just nothing there

@ThatTrainerD From the leaks WIWA’s going to be another garbage generation with a gimmick that’s not as good as ORAS with the Megas and island exploration. I feel no desire to play next gen with Z-A being their most recent effort either.

@ThatTrainerD the funniest part of all this discourse is that you KNOW most of the people saying this stuff about competition are just disgruntled Pokémon fans who are going to just buy Winds/Waves no matter what in the end anyway...

@Walahute I mean to me personally I love the way it looks. Looks good and I’m interested in the region and personally like its aesthetically more than pal world. But even if it looked horrible, look at scarlet and violet, they sold very well and they look pretty bad.

Pal world fans forget that Pokemon is the most iconic franchise ever(last I checked) at this point there is no way for them to be competitive. Even if you like the game more, Pokemon is bigger than video games. And the fact I only see palworld brought up to trash Pokemon-
