I understand why Pokemon players are defiantly arguing why its not gambling. However my point is clear. There has not been any ruling carving out TCGs from gambling laws
They operate in a gray area
I play MTG and played Pokemon the day it came out, I agree they are skill based.
However with casinos popping up everywhere new challenges are going to emerge as to who has the right to host card games, how we apply the predominant factor test to every new game, and when an entry fee is gambling.
Its going to be insane applying the predominant factor test to every single TCG to figure out the degree of skill or chance.

Actual question for @Pokemon vgc players. As I understand it currently, vgc uses local play to establish and play correct? Does requiring network for champions drastically affect the game at regionals? Asking as a card game player 😂
