@BarryForshaw3 @asimwaheed1968 My dad had that edition. Classic

@TheAgentPhil He was every dad’s favourite author. My father had a stack of Deighton books. 😀

RIP Len Deighton. One of my dad's favourite authors. And Sidney Furie's adaptation of the Ipcress File was the making of Michael Caine's career (Harry Palmer, not Alfie!). "Now listen to me. Listen to me....." #ipcress youtu.be/VFdW4r4iuHo?si…

@ScarredForLife2 The hellscape ending! And it's a Disney movie! It is such a weird, dark film. Event Horizon for the Star Wars generation

Out on 21st May, @StuartMacBride Blood, Rust and Steel. This has to be one of my favourite Stuart MacBride novels. As the title suggests this is Roberta Steel's show seeing her in a new light. I love it and hope you will too. @panmacmillan. Preorder now

@ddhutch402 @mariwriter We need Tino in the crowd to bring us good fortune.
English

@mariwriter @TheAgentPhil And failed to give two yellow cards for fouls (one of them a rugby tackle) on Lewis Hall (who was outstanding). We're definitely still in it and other than Arsenal, who also drew 1-1 with a dodgy pen, we're in a better position than any other Premier club going into the next leg.
English

@martynwrites @mariwriter The Germans call it Bayern-Dusel - Bayern Luck (specifically unwarranted and undeserved luck), where Bayern Munich get the decisions in their favour and refs show a conscious or unconscious bias towards them. Might be a little truth in it.
English

@mariwriter @TheAgentPhil There was a City player who wore a tee shirt, 'Why is it always me'. Perhaps we should have that printed on our shirts, because refs do seen to have it in for us.
English

@SkySports_Keith And the same with Elanga who had a brilliant game and has come in for a lot of stick. Give the guys time to gel with the team. Joelinton had a shaky start and then found his position and look at him now. Great performance last night, just the wrong result.
English

👏🏼 A word for this guy, tonight - I felt he was outstanding.
⚽️ Gliding across the surface, spinning away from Pedri, playing little balls around the corner, covering every blade of grass. A goal threat.
🫡 After what’s been a very difficult start to his Newcastle career, he’s now looking the player #NUFC paid £40m for. #Ramsey

English

@mariwriter Yes, it did feel like that, Mari. I particularly like the fans singing, "You're not fit to referee," earlier in the match. Seemed to favour the Catalans over the Geordies. Game on for the return leg, I say (eek!)

@TheAgentPhil Shame the ref let extra time run over too. Great game. We’re still in it.
English

@JohnMcKay68 It was a really good game. Just that final 10 seconds took the shine off it.
English

@TheAgentPhil Didn’t see your game as pub were showing the crazy spurs game. Sounds like you were unlucky

@daveainsworth63 Between this and Come and See. Watch the original uncut TV series version (5 hours). Much better than the Director's Cut and the original butchered theatrical version.
This German TV documentary on Das Boot is worth a watch too.

For my money, war films don't get any better than Das Boot (1981) #DasBoot #WolfgangPetersen #JurganProchnow
