Since the IOC has created a rule for trans women athletes to compete in the female category in 2003, over 81,000 people have become Olympians. Out of those 81,000 Olympians a total of 2 have been trans women & one came dead last the other came 37th out of 42. The real threat to fair competition in the female category in Olympic Sports is not trans women athletes. At the london 2012 Olympics, in women’s Olympic 1500m final 5 out of the 12 finishers were disqualified for retroactive doping offences. Also at the London Olympics, 21 medals were awarded in women’s weightlifting. Do you know how many of those medals were later stripped due to doping violations? ELEVEN or 52%! 21% of women and girls globally have experienced sexual abuse in sports, nearly twice the rate of male athletes; this includes harassment, assault, and ‘sextortion’ (misuse of authority for sexual gain) 31.8% of female athletes have endured excessive punitive training, while 10.6% have suffered physical beatings; the violence experienced extends to include neglect, assault, and denial of medical care. Athletes face mistreatment from coaches, peers, and spectators, including demeaning language, hazing, and verbal abuse at events. During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 87% of abusive tweets targeted women, with Black female athletes facing the worst harassment; the online abuse women experience is often sexualised. There isn’t a single trans woman dominating her sport. Even Laurel Hubbard, the two most famous, & most successful, trans woman athletes didn't “dominate” their sport. Laurel won a total of Zero Olympic Medals & holds no world elite world records. Lia Thomas won one national NCAA title & her winning time was a massive 9.4 seconds slower than the NCAA record held by Katie Ledecky. By contrast, Katie Ledecky has won a total of 9 Olympic gold medals and has broken 19 world records since 2013. Why is Katie Ledecky treated like a marvel, and Laurel Hubbard & Lia Thomas are treated like mutants? There currently exists no evidence to suggest that trans women who elect to suppress testosterone (through, for example, gender affirming hormone therapy and/or surgical gonad removal) maintain disproportionate advantages over c_s women indefinitely. The people I know speaking out for a fair women's category at parkrun don't do so with malicious intent. Most are regular parkrunners and volunteers. All of them just want equity for women. It really shouldn't be such a divisive issue.

I've done many parkruns. As an elite athlete, club runner, while pregnant, pushing a buggy, pregnant AND pushing a buggy, and accompanying my son. No performance was more valid than any other. All deserved a fair result in a female category excluding men. #makeparkrunfairforall
