BREAKING: Shooting at “No Kings” protest in Salt Lake City, Utah Suspect in custody per police

How did we arrive at a point in this country where 25% of all tax revenue goes to just paying the interest in $37 trillion in govt debt? Annually: US govt total reveneue = about $5 trillion US govt interest on debt = about $1.2 trillion US govt spending = about $7 trillion

A distinction that makes all the difference When Senate Finance releases proposed changes to IRA subsidies, the key test is: Is there a "placed in service" eligibility deadline during Trump's presidency? If there isn't, the subsidies will have been extended effectively forever. If you see a "construction begun" deadline during Trump's presidency, don't be fooled. It's effectively worthless. It's easy for a solar/wind developer to meet that by putting a small amount of money (mostly recoverable) down and then have 4 more years (a "safe harbor") to cash in the subsidy. E.g., let's say there's a "construction begun" deadline of end-of-2026. A massive subsidy-seeker like NextEra can put down a little money in 2026, then have 4 years to put a subsidized wind farm in service, then collect subsidies from 2030 to 2040. It will still be collecting subsidies on Donald Trump's 94th birthday! And actually it'll be longer than that because in the meantime the subsidy-seekers will use some of the hundreds of billions they've looted from American taxpayers (along with wrecking our grid with unreliable power) to lobby Congress to extend the subsidies even more.

There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on 𝕏. Working on shutting it down. Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later.
