🇭🇺 Hungary sees massive voter turnout in pivotal election that the EU and Zelensky are hoping will unseat PM Orban. 54% of votes had been cast by 1pm local time, far higher than previous elections. On a recent trip, JD Vance accused the EU of "one of the worst examples of election interference I have ever seen or ever even read about.” Orban has previously blocked some European aid packages to Ukraine, saying it’s not our war, and is heavily focused on improving Hungary, which hasn’t made him many fans in the EU. A Fidesz mayor has switched sides on election day and voted for Tisza, according to 444.hu. Szőke-Tóth, the mayor of Bócs, a small town in southern Hungary, elected in 2024 with over 71% as a Fidesz candidate, has publicly declared that he cast his vote for Tisza Part. “I cast my vote against Russian influence and in favor of European values,” he wrote, adding that he supports “a community that wants to build, that provides a vision for the future, and that represents hope for the nation.” He framed his decision as a rejection of “weak government performance” and what he described as war-driven scaremongering.

There is a theory among Indians and Americans that Ukrainians execute Russian POWs or their own men in staged propaganda videos. This theory only exists outside of Russia, Russian telegram channels, mil-bloggers and analysts have never made this claim and always refer to these casualties as Russian soldiers.

A while ago I theorized how these lone guys hunted by Uke FPVs were Uke deserters or Russian POWs. Why wouldn’t advance scouts ever carry rifles??? Or shotguns for drone defense? This makes so sense that they’re always unarmed?
