If a person had some sort of psychotic problem like schizophrenia, first of all , it wouldn't necessarily mean that they're going to commit violence. If picked up for a crime like this , he would likely end up in a psychiatric hospital and could realistically stay there for the rest of his life, but that would be unlikely. I think people often get confused as to what happens to people when they're deemed mentally ill to the point where they may not understand the crime they've committed. But then with patients like that , you have to think about malingering , which is faking symptoms for the benefit of the individual.

@CoryMoesta @BitPaine Don't they all work together though? The director's job is to create the vision of the producer at least to some extent.

@TheBestWithinMe @BitPaine From the perspective of the home office producers, you are probably correct. From the perspective of the director(s) and casting director(s), Paine is correct.

I’m once again reminding you that people don’t hate racially diverse casting; they hate 1) double standards, 2) badly made films, and 3) the injection of the leftist political messaging in every single piece of media. The racebending of Snape and Hermione checks all the boxes, but is most egregious because of 3: 1) Hermione spends the majority of the films being called a “mudblood” by the blond white kid. 2) Snape is likewise bullied, ostracized, and distrusted. Accused of crimes he did not commit. Literally strung up and tortured by a bunch of white boys after being rejected by the white girl he had a crush on. Casting a mixed-race girl to play Hermione and a Black guy to play Snape inserts obvious modern racial political overtones into all of these interactions that distract from the story and the characters. That these two characters in particular were race-bended while others were recast as virtual carbon copies means this decision cannot credibly be given the benefit of the doubt. People don’t want everything to be about leftist politics. They’re sick of it. It cheapens the writing, which already addressed the themes of eugenics, slavery, totalitarianism, propaganda, discrimination, and social ostracism, but did so using world-building and metaphor in a politically agnostic way. It examined themes in the abstract rather than being one step removed from a political yard sign. This is what good writers and filmmakers do because it universalizes the message and doesn’t insult the intelligence of the audience. WHEN HERMIONE IS CALLED A MUDBLOOD, IT’S AN ALLEGORY FOR EUGENICS Yeah, no shit, everyone with a brain already got that. They didn’t need it spelled out by casting a mixed girl. (By the way, the American South is not the only time in history that people have cared about bloodline purity, so you haven’t deepened the allegory by underlining it in red marker; you cheapened and provincialized it) People just want good writing and filmmaking. They don’t want everything everywhere to be a vessel for hack writers and leftist propagandists. And they’re not racist for wanting that. But you’re making them racist by making everything about race and politicizing beloved media in the process.

HBO is spending $100 million per episode to reboot Harry Potter. That’s more per episode than the average Harry Potter film cost to produce. Seven seasons. 56 episodes. A potential $5.6 billion total production budget. Paapa Essiedu signed a 10-year contract for this role. He’ll be 45 when it’s finished. He’s receiving death threats on Instagram. People telling him to quit or they’ll kill him. His response: “The abuse fuels me.” Here’s what the people sending those messages don’t understand about how this actually works. The original eight Harry Potter films grossed $7.7 billion at the box office on a combined $1.2 billion production budget. That’s a 6.4x return before merchandising, theme parks, and streaming revenue. Warner Bros. is spending $100M per episode because the Wizarding World generates roughly $2 billion per year across all revenue streams, and they need a new content engine to keep that machine running for the next decade. Essiedu was one of the first actors attached to this project. Emmy and BAFTA nominee from I May Destroy You. Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy across all eight films, called the backlash what it is: racism. The casting controversy has generated more press coverage for this show than any marketing campaign could buy. Every article about the death threats includes the trailer link. Every outrage tweet puts the show back in people’s timelines. 13M views on this single tweet are proof. Warner Bros. has run this playbook before. The internet raged when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker. When Daniel Craig was cast as Bond. When Michael Keaton was cast as Batman. Each of those performances became the definitive version of the character. Essiedu grew up reading these books at a local library because his mom couldn’t afford a babysitter. Now he’s anchoring the most expensive TV series ever produced. The people threatening him over Instagram DMs are going to watch the show anyway. That’s the part they’ll never admit.

@HeavensLance @TheBestWithinMe @AndrewZywiecMD but in this case the "answer" is a statement full of adjectives. His argument was women are "huge list of adjectives" and he generalized to say "most men" then "you want my anecdotal" ... when you state something have valid evidence not just your opinion.

This is the entire left. Their entire "debate" stems from them purposefully not understanding anything, ever, at all. It might sound hyperbolic, but it's actually true. It's profound. They don't understand words, language, reality. Nothing.

I appreciate that, and I agree with you. People forget that most abortion is essentially used as birth control. In the case I mentioned, the mother's health would have been at risk, and the baby would very likely have been stillborn. I'm not even sure what she did would be called an "abortion" since the ending of the life of the child is not the point of the procedure.

I think my stance on abortion is logical with both side taken into consideration. Abortion is the act of ending the life of an unborn child — which I consider immoral and wrong based on evidences. Most abortions done statistically are for reasons outside of rape, incest and in life-threatening cases. That’s what I focus on — rape, incest, and the other reasons. I believe those reasons should be outlawed, but not life threatening reasons. If the mother is in danger, life saving measures should be taken—even if the child can’t be saved, we should save the life we already have.

I recall in the early 2000s around the time of 9/11 people doing this same thing. The internet was not as robust back then so I think this is separate from how people argue online. My contention is it is simply a way of narrowing the conditions for someone to be correct in their argument. She asks for a paper, he might have one, but no, it's not written by the right people, or those people don't have the right degree, or whatever else excuse she wants to make to discredit his point. Even she could understand it, it would never be enough for her because he can't be right. He simply cannot be right.

Yes most people think that if it's been researched, or if there is a paper written about it, then this is "science" and therefore somehow proves the point being made. Then of course if a paper were written that pushes back against their pre-drawn conclusion, they will ignore it.

@TheBestWithinMe @AndrewZywiecMD If you've ever read a research paper, the conclusion section always points to more knowledge and understanding is needed, and to not draw hard conclusions. This is why I laugh at credentialists who need to see peer reviewed papers exist before believing anything.

If you're referring to the basic concepts i'm laying out here as mumbo jumbo I guess that's up to you. This is a highly edited clip , and you're making a broad generalization from it. If you don't understand what the appeal to authority fallacy refers to you can either look it up or you can ask me. But clearly , you don't know what i'm talking about.

If I'm asked why Beethoven is a genius I'll say he wrote 9 symphonies that have greatly influenced composers. Period. Of course he wrote much more but1/2

By definition , she is appealing to authority by asking for a scientific study that reinforces his point. Again i'm speaking definitionally here. She is appealing to the authority of those who would write such a paper. If you're so ideologically driven that you can't see that she was constantly interrupting him and moving the goal posts , then there's not much I can tell you.

@TheBestWithinMe @AndrewZywiecMD O please stop it! She's not appealing to authority. If I accuse the police of brutality I mention that the officer fired a gun while he had his hands up. See how simple it is? She asked him a direct question but he could not answer a question that is so f*cking simple to answer.

Obviously they cast a black person instead of a white person so people would talk about it online. Seems like everything is rage bait these days. Interesting how they don't want the black actor for his expertise but simply because his presence will upset people.
Robby Starbuck@robbystarbuck

This miscast of Snape in Harry Potter is a good example of race swapping changing an entire story. If Snape is Black, despite books saying he’s White, then Harry is now suspicious that the only Black teacher at Hogwarts is stealing and his Dad bullied a Black kid by hanging him. This seems like a major story change to introduce the idea of racism, and it strays from the source material. 🥴

@IAmGiGiIs @AbolitionRising I think she made the right decision. I don't think advice from a medical doctor in good faith should be referred to as bait. As I said , there's a very small chance that the child would even be born alive.

@TheBestWithinMe @AbolitionRising One year loving that child is more than zero. The doctors dont think about that! Many live way past that marker made by man who dont know the future God has for them. Doctors instill fear instead of hope. Too bad your friend took their bait. She cheated her child of life!

@dsonoiki It doesn't really exist today , either , does it? The concept of racism today is simply used as a weapon against other people. Complaints of racism used as a weapon against another person does not mean that racism exists.

Wait for the ending. A black guy tossed his stuff into the trunk of an Uber. When the trunk slammed, the Uber thought it was the back door shutting and pulled off. After maybe ten seconds, he realized his mistake and turned around in the parking lot to retrieve the passenger. The low-impulse passenger tried to resolve the situation with violence and learned a very harsh lesson. We are not your punching bags.
