It’s pretty crazy to think how aliens used advanced technology to travel vast distances through space so they could come to Earth to build big triangles made out of rocks.

What’s one habit that improved your life this year?

If you want to feel better, listen to positive audio affirmations every single day. The goal is to fill your mind with good thoughts all the time until they become your habitual thinking.

@WhittyWhit86 A good adaptation can make a fantasy world feel legendary. A bad one can completely flatten the magic.

not to be dramatic but if adapted right When the Moon Hatched would make a stunning tv/movie adaptation

@WhittyWhit86 I feel like fantasy comfort books hit differently because you can fully disappear into the world for a while.

Amazing how people will block you only because you disagree. Obviously not capable to keep up the conversation

@TheBookNewb Yes, exactly! A good poem that reminds of this is Wordsworth’s “Lines Written a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey.” It’s about coming back to the same scene having gone through changes in life.

Some books don’t enter your life randomly. They arrive exactly when your mindset is ready for them.

motivational bs is super practical, even though its essence is totally ephemeral. yes, most intellectuals here on x think "5am you got this consistency" accounts deserve to stay at the bottom of the sea, replying to each other until the end of cloudflare. but put two people in a competition. > one competes alone. > one has people cheering for them. who do you think performs better? and why? aren't we doing the same here?

these are not my ideas, but i value them: 1. education is what changes your behavior, not just what adds new knowledge. 2. thinking is synthesizing new angles that surprise even the person thinking.

@TheBookNewb I was thinking about this yesterday. I wonder how many books I could read now and not enjoy, but then at some later stage in my life, by virtue of having lived more, I could value and enjoy something in it that i could not before. Makes you think.
