I started KOTD by asking battlers to bring $10 each so we could pay the camera man.
Messaged the battlers on MySpace & Soundclick
Had to host the battle myself cause people hated that it wasn’t ’freestyle’ and didn’t wanna do it.

And it was all started because a bunch of kids were passionate about the same thing. None of it was planned nor funded by outside sources. The culture literally built itself day by day.
I rarely reflect on battle rap and where it is but holy what a fucking journey it’s been.
