Messing around on Illustrator making #SciFi #spaceships and the like - now that I'm getting the hang of gradients this one's coming along nicely [wip]:

#WritingCommunity is anyone able to recommend any good fiction/short story/flash fic #zines?
Especially anything SF or fantasy genre? Thinking about starting up one of my own, would be cool to have some inspiration to draw on [and would be nice to support some existing zines]

Anyone else in the #WritingCommunity like to develop aspects of their stories with sketches/artwork? Share them below with some context about the project, I love that kind of stuff

Been messing around figuring out how to draw spaceships in Illustrator - how it started vs how it's going:

@AnnaWillett9 I'm starting to write longhand more often - I like that it leaves me with a stack of paper after a writing session. It's good to have something tangible to show for it, rather than just a wordcount on your laptop

@ailantd Excitement? I feel only fear. Let's hope for the best though 🤞
English

@MonicaStorms Yeah i think it's very much more a case by case basis here? Much clearer in the States!

@TheDavidYancy I didn’t realize you were in the UK 😊 I tried to do research about your satire laws, and they seem very vague! That must be frustrating.
English

@MonicaStorms Yeah I think it's a similar understanding here in the UK :)

@TheDavidYancy I believe that parody and satire is protected free speech. We can thank Larry Flynt for that: loc.gov/exhibitions/dr…

@Britta_Murasaki Going with whatever works seems to be the common theme!

@TheDavidYancy I'm going with gut instinct, a bit of outlining (when I start to feel like I'm drowning in the river weeds), and plow on through to the finish line, just trying to feel as though the experience of the characters is first and foremost. It's a visceral drive, really.

How does everyone write their first drafts? Do you try to use correct spelling and grammer, and a consistent tense/POV from the very start? Or do you just try to get the scenes down on the page, and make it all presentable later? #WritingCommunity

@FromGreenhills Yeah I need to get on that - have seen the movie is on Youtube, so will have to set some time aside!

You might not like Westerns, but his prose was hot shit.

@TheDavidYancy @ReneeGendron Thank you for your interest. Here is a link that will tell you a little bit more, plus Chapter Minus One: The Scholar on his Wedding Day, which is part of the story, but not part of the novel.

@ReneeGendron
I am currently writing a historical fiction coming-of-age series Sons of the New World. The first novel Brides of the Gauntlet should be available on Amazon in few months.

@PatricProAuthor Lying in his office, the blood steadily pooling on the floorboards beneath him, a thought, surprising in its clarity, burst into Isaac Sinkler’s mind: so, this is what it feels like to die.
