@IkeLifeLike @needGod_net Nope — I’m just trying to kick a short field goal, and you keep throwing flags 😂 The ultimate principle for settling doctrinal disputes must terminate in the speech of God, not in an ecclesiastical act of a visible institution. Otherwise, the goalposts have already been moved.

@TheDog620 @needGod_net That’s exactly MY argument…if I interpret the text differently than you who is to say who is objectively correct? The EO position is that the visible Church that God established and that is talked about as having a physical existence is the means by which God guides us.

@IkeLifeLike @needGod_net Actually, God’s authority remains ultimate regardless of whether our interpretations are right or wrong. Our fallible understanding does not diminish His infallible authority.

@TheDog620 @needGod_net The issue isn’t whether interpretation exists. The question is who has the authority to settle interpretation. In your view it’s you that determines your interpretation of the Bible. In the orthodox view it’s the Church.
