@dtnols @sherbetfox Dogfoodadviser is a good resource for pointing out bad ingredients in food and explaining WHY they’re bad. They don’t have EVERY variety but it’s still really helpful. And they don’t highlight byproduct meal which I find strange.

does anyone else know good affordable dog/cat food? i feed them honest kitchen rn but it’s getting expensive since i dont work for petsmart anymore also has anyone heard of or tried the “raw diet” for their pets ???

@dtnols @sherbetfox Natural balance is a great limited ingredient kibble. Especially now that they have more protein +rice options since one of my dogs can’t have potatoes. Wellness is also pretty good + they have raw coated options Blue buffalo has also lied about using byproducts in the past :/

@dtnols @sherbetfox My dogs love it but after getting bought out they added more bone content to lower costs for them but lowered the quality of the food. Not that my dogs complain. I use them as a topper every once in a while still. But I prefer the other two in terms of nutrition.

@TheFerretFinley @sherbetfox yeah stella and chewy gets promoted at petsmart for like months and ppl were buying the hell out of it till where we ran out of certain bags!

@dtnols @sherbetfox Use of Byproducts. It’s mystery meat for dogs. It also FREQUENTLY gets returned full of bugs. Mostly grain beetles and worms. My dogs were on proplan for 2 years until my entire house got infested with the grain beetles.

@sherbetfox @dtnols I JUST SAW THE LINE ABOUT RAW AT THE BOTTOM IM STUPID SORRY!!! primal is really good and all organic. They have frozen or freeze dried. Both are 10/10 instinct is made in the US if that means anything to you. Stella and chewy went down in quality after getting bought out
