I mistakenly backtested a strategy on the 5 minute timeframe instead of the 1 Hour timeframe which it was built on. I noticed that the equity curve trading m5 is not sideways to negative but rather a consistent downward equity (PF is also 0.58) Seeing this, I have now decided to create an algo based on the complete opposite of this logic for M5 TF. 😅 Swaps and Fees cost $22,000 in this backtest and the total PnL was -$92,000. So I think there could potentially be a decent edge trading the opposite. I'm not sure what the theory states the case should be here but I think this will be an interesting experiment. I will share the results when I am done.
