@casualokclover Went back and forth between including him on the graphic at 23 or not. Him, Cenac, Zuby, and Amari were close exclusions that could easily make it on my post-combine board

@bendog28 I'd probably be there with you and weigh the potential upside some more... if his HS creation priors weren't also weak (in my opinion)

@TheFlarescreen Yeah I guess I just feel like there’s upside with “what if he was playing hurt all year and he was still this good, maybe he’s even better when fully healthy.” I know that brings risk too, but not sure the upside doesn’t outweigh it

@bendog28 Lower on his creation than before Kansas, but not significantly. He’s always been the same long 2 chucker with mediocre passing, though I didn’t expect his passing to be *this* bad

@TheFlarescreen Are you significantly lower on Darryn’s dribbling and/or passing than you were before his Kansas season?

@spacebarNBA Think his scoring + measurements are too cooked to have him any higher, but think he’s too good at basketball to have any lower. He checks every other box with flying colors, and he was ultimately still the ~10th best player in CBB as a young freshman guard. That’s insane.

@TheFlarescreen Thought you were lower on Kingston last time What’s the main reasoning behind his ranking? (Asking bc I have him ranked pretty much the same)

@BugateCate This "disaster" is still projected to break +3 impact with ease. So yes, the better prospect (Tyler Tanner) is top 4

@bendog28 Creation. Tanner has a really special and really rare blend of scoring x feel. Darryn does not dribble or pass well enough for my liking. Think that gap is far too large for Darryn's measurements to make up for

@FinnDraft Have switched the two a ton. In short, they're both score-first guards with strong cognition indicators but raw passing volume that lags behind. I'll take the one who's 3.6 years younger + self-creates more + better TOV% economy + better ancillaries. Rim% + HT gaps make me pause

@NileHoops I know he's your boy, but I'm not feeling it. The vast majority of his impact is centralized in OREBs + rim pro w/below-average center height, and I think he's a staunch negative in every other area (besides DTOVs = ++). Think he sticks but I don't see this as lotto-adjacent

@TheFlarescreen Is a lower JQ rank a risk aversion play or legit not feeling the game? That and Swain are my most substantial differences from yours

Here's the single-game Report Card example for Ty Jerome vs Minnesota from the story Had a lot of on-ball decisions finishing 3/5 on identifying the defence's Two-Way Motion and 6/9 on QB12s (identifying early doubles / help)

@okcamars @bobachet7 Congrats a 21.8 y/o isn’t good in his first PS series We still have elite HS priors, elite NCAA priors, a GOAT-level G League szn during a shitty NBA rookie szn, took a +3 EPM jump from rookie to soph szn, and we’re ahead of archetype comps at the same age Let’s talk in 3 yrs
