i've seen lots of talk about combine testing. here's an example of how it can be analyzed. an evergreen integration for guards is size, speed, and length. without any on-court stats, we can use these principles to construct combine queries with historically favorable names.

One of the best iso defenders in CBB +DTOV% influence A full game locking down a historic movement shooter I think Dybantsa is a bad defender, but the idea that he's irreprehensible on D or even sucks is just not at all proven from anything I've seen.

Added the biggest defensive differences between them at the bottom. STL and BLK rates can be thought of as something similar to physical tools because prospects rarely improve them going forward. PG has been an elite disruptor on defense in the NBA and his college profile suggested he had strong potential in that area.

@xy71j Well if DBPM is just “Given only this player’s box score, what would we expect their plus-minus impact to be?”, his DBPM being that high is a solid indicator that he’ll be strong on D itl.

Was expecting something closer to >175. This isn't a massive deviation from that, but it definitely puts things into perspective. Can't think of a player that was sub-170 with this murky shooting/creation outlook.

CBA constraints make 1st contract production supremely important. Those that come into the league with relative size have intuitively been much better earlier. Cam Boozer just measured at 27.6 BMI with > avg WS as the most productive player in college at 18. He’s always been # 1

The NBA really dropped the ball by not requiring official measurements until 2024… but just looking at the last two lotteries it’s pretty clear to me that there’s something there with BMI. Archetypal size is important.
