@JohnRHarrell Specialization is killing some sports. You still have your stars but the winter sports seem to lose the most (kids that casually played in the past) being sandwiched between volleyball/soccer and softball and everything being year round now.

The division between the haves and the have-nots (or the cares and the care-nots) in girls' basketball is getting worse. It's only been two days of games (about 30% of the tournament), but the average margin is 24.1, 4 points greater than it's ever been. That will come down to a more sensible number. However, we've already had 8 teams scoring in single digits. That's an all-time record.
