It is a fictional story set in a fictional world, and within that framework, Rudeus is not his unnamed past life, that person is dead.
The narrative continually reinforces their separation, most notably during Rudeus's encounters with the Man God. In those visions, his former self appears as a distinct entity rather than who Rudeus is now. Rudeus openly detests that version of himself and utilizes his traumatic memories as a cautionary benchmark to drive his personal growth and ensure he becomes a better person.

That's the wrong mind set imo. This is not an adult in a child's body, it's a child who is burdened with the memories of his past life.
Rudeus is consistently trying to break away from his past self and live a new life he can be proud of.
He has consistently improved is character and behavior as he has grown up in the world. He's very aware of he is flawed and that he can never be perfect, but he tries his best to overcome his past self and be a better person.

Marriage is a sacred bond between ONE man and ONE woman. It’s painful to hear the pride in her voice. It shows a lack of respect and love towards her husband.
Marriage in the west has become a joke and I pray to God more people wake up and push back against this becoming normalized. It’s not normal or healthy. If you don’t want to stay committed to one person, please do not get married.
Men/women if your spouse wants to “open” the relationship your relationship is done. Adultery is never ok and if you need to accept it to keep someone, it’s better to move on. That person clearly has little respect for you.
