@SynthPotato Modding is suppose to be supplemental income, if everyone charged modding would be completely unobtainable. Peoples mod collections are hundreds of long, paying even $5 for each mod would break the bank. People who choose to make their mods free pave the way for those who charge

@SynthPotato It doesn't need to be "free", you get paid per download on mod sites. It's not as much but it's still income, plus you will get money from optional donations, or even access to early builds if CDPR allows that (they probably do) As a modder, I despise modders like this.

CD Projekt Red has taken down the Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod via DMCA This is due to modder LukeRoss locking the mod behind a $10 subscription. CDPR reportedly asked LukeRoss to make the mod free, he refused and deleted it instead. LukeRoss generates 20K USD monthly from paid mods

@Simon_Hypixel Ex: For stone, a cracking sound, it sounds more cracked each stage. The next part is in your ballpark to create audio that is pleasing to hear, but that's the idea, breaking things into stages makes an action feel less tedious & more satisfying. Great work on HyTale Simon.

@Simon_Hypixel You can DM me for a full list, bu suggestion is instead of having consistent mining sound, add 3 block stages; when a block is 33% broken, an audio que plays, and then again at 66%, then 100%, but the audio gets progressively different, signifying the block is more broken.

I need suggestions to make mining in Hytale more satisfying / fun! I’m not happy with it, finding ores or strip mining is not good enough. I’m considering adding signature ability to pickaxes + improving the sounds / visuals of mining.

@Simon_Hypixel So we need better mod management / QoL; such as ability to download & create presets we can select (aka modpacks) & a 'global' mods section in the main menu for basic/simple client tweaks.

@Simon_Hypixel Yes but in it's current state it's not great. Once the game gets larger and modpacks release, being able to sort through a preset/folder of mods per world would be better. Furthermore, the current system doesn't allow for client side mods on servers, only what the host selects.

@devranue @kiaran_ritchie @TimSweeneyEpic You're not showing that information is what's harmful, but only that social media is - which is most likely from the algorithms or the design of the apps (designed to maximize dopamine & retention, such as reels). Those are seperate issues.

@kiaran_ritchie @TimSweeneyEpic It's information that's harmful to people. The negative effects of social media heavily outweigh the positives. If you look at IG for example, studies have linked Instagram to depression, body image concerns, self-esteem issues, social anxiety, and other problems.

Politics brings out the worst of these traits since many people's political views aren't seen as preference but rather a fight of good vs evil. Therefore, you are evil to them because you don't support their narrative, and the result of that is attempts to excommunicate you.

I know this because I attempted nuanced, civil discourse & was met with strawmans, they were extremely disingenuous The internet is hyperbolic & rules on mob mentality. When an enclave of people dislike you, they will construe all your actions in the most negative light possible

@pcgamer This is a vile lie by PC Gamer. I criticized a government official for pressuring Apple and Google to block a speech app owned by their political opponent, deplatforming 500,000,000 users on the pretense of stopping a small number of users from distributing disgusting content.

@YoungbloodJoe @just2red @Pirat_Nation Admins will either ban you for a silly reason themselves, or at the behest of their powermods under vague rules that don't even apply to you, Reddit is a major bloated corrupt bureaucracy basically; protecting their culture & friends, no care in the world for fairness

My account is permanently suspended, all because I criticized AC shadows, a mod from r/PCGaming banned me from the sub, then contacted the admins to ban me, they did. Same thing happened with the r/Art user. Powermod reported him, they suspended

@Hexalyse @SamaHoole Irony would be saying forgo conventional treatment & rely solely on diet... theirs data showing going into ketosis helps, but it's not a cure. Diet btw & being healthy in general is apart of ensuring your body has the resources & vitality to survive the treatment.

@SamaHoole Mocking someone that used diet to treat cancer, and then promote diet that is supposed to treat cancer is really the pinnacle of irony! Nothing "starves" cancer. Especially not meat.

2008: Steve Jobs diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Rare form. Treatable. Doctors recommend immediate surgery. Survival rate is good. Jobs refuses. He's going to beat it with diet. His chosen diet: Fruitarian. Only fruit. Nothing else. His logic: Fruit is pure. Natural. Cleansing. His doctors beg him to reconsider. Jobs: "The body can heal itself with proper nutrition." Nine months later: Cancer has spread. Jobs finally agrees to surgery. Too late. The delay was fatal. 2011: Jobs dies at 56. His biographer reveals: Jobs regretted the diet decision. Called it one of his biggest regrets. Where did these beliefs come from? That fruit heals and meat is poison? Victorian religious movements that thought meat caused moral corruption. Rebranded as "wellness" and sold to Silicon Valley. Jobs had access to the best medical care in the world. He chose fruit instead. Jobs revolutionised technology by ignoring conventional wisdom. He died following conventional "wellness" wisdom that's 200 years old. Victorian sexual purity theology, rebranded as biohacking.

@The_One_Boom Not incomplete, theirs enough COD players to find a match in a good ping range. The matchmaker simply prioritizes skill more than ping, hence why the lower skill accounts gets better ping. This is discriminatory towards good players by degrading their connection quality.

Did everyone watch a different video? Ace showed that his main account has 20-25 ms higher ping compared to an account that has no play time. He also stated that within the matches there's more diversity than previous COD games and that matchmaking is definitely more open. And comparing our current experience to the beta - in regards to ping - doesn't make sense because 90% of the population was in 1 single moshpit or SND which would allow for more matches to be within your region, people are now segregated into persistent lobbies, quick play, individual modes, and multiple moshpits which splits up the playerbase considerably. That means the ping windows have to be wider otherwise you won't find a match. Also, Ace is going to be on the stricter side of matchmaking because he's currently playing for gameplay and not doing wacky challenges and camo grinding (or letting his K/D drop in Nuketown like my dumbass) His video is valid but this picture is incomplete.
TacticalBrit@TheTacticalBrit

Some Promising stuff in this. But I just don't believe any of it anymore. "Open matchmaking is coming to Warzone in Season 1". Yet XclusiveAce has just definitively proven that SBMM is still alive and well in Black Ops 7. At the bare minimum hopefully it means it doesn't take me 20 minutes to find a solo game.

@xpertfusion3 @Raseti4 This is still the same SBMM system with queue times weighted more, skill bracket is largely the same, this isn't similar to classic matchmaking + they removed the term from the modes description: @TheHybred/a-technical-study-of-call-of-dutys-platform-share-matchmaking-c27f95d9d20d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@TheHybred/a-t…

1) No COD has ever had zero SBMM 2) The game would die pretty fast without it, because all players below a certain skill level would just simply not play 3) Even if they removed it, the people who want it gone still wouldn't believe it and would still claim it's in the game I believe reducing the strictness of SBMM to make the game more similar to how the classic CODs was, is the solution. Which it seems like they at least did something close to that. It's just that the player base nowadays is much better than the player base used to be.

I feel bad for the position Treyarch is in here because there’s literally nothing they can say or do that’ll make people believe them. I am fairly confident they are being honest. People just don’t realize how many factors go into a matchmaking experience. There’s also so much nuance in the conversation, and of course people are unable to comprehend nuance sometimes.
CharlieIntel@charlieINTEL

Treyarch has again confirmed, this time to @TheXclusiveAce, that Open Matchmaking in Black Ops 7 is the exact same as it was in the beta. Some players may feel it’s different because the player base and playlist selection in beta was different compared to full game.

@charlieINTEL "Minimally" is a vague word used for marketing, that studies have shown is extremely similar to their regular SBMM matchmaking Only noticable improvement is faster queue times by 25%, but ping & skill remain very similar to "Standard" playlists @TheHybred/a-technical-study-of-call-of-dutys-platform-share-matchmaking-c27f95d9d20d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@TheHybred/a-t…
