@lorimann1210 @tattilothi @yumcoconutmilk That’s not a conservatorship - that’s guardianship which is for kids under 18. A conservatorship is explained everywhere as something you do for someone who can’t care for themselves. And $200,000 per family member plus 3 percent of a $300m movie isn’t getting rich?

@afrosabi I question why I bother vacuuming. It’s just dirty within two hours again because my former street dogs are too good to eat the crumbs of their food or treats.

Real talk. My house would be a LOT cleaner if I didn't have dogs. It's mostly the fur they shed and the dirt they bring in from the outside.

It’s hilarious to me to see some of the same white people who’ve been screaming “free Britney” for years now suddenly be okay with conservatorships. 🧐

Interesting that an article which is heavily cited with primary sources is labeled leftist revisionism. It’s a fact that the US is not a judeo Christian country because judeo christian isn’t a thing
Lee Thompson@thompsonlee17

Sorry @QueenMab87 , read your bio. This is leftist revisionism. Glad it was labeled as opinion. Opinion can be wrong, not facts. This is fiction 101. How America was not founded as 'a Christian country' based on 'Judeo-Christian' values | Opinion msn.com/en-us/news/us/…

@lorimann1210 @tattilothi @yumcoconutmilk According to where? Nothing I’m finding about conservatorships says that. Lawyers who have helped families get conservatorships for years for their disabled children are saying it’s not a common use.

@TheJMo78 @tattilothi @yumcoconutmilk They can also be used as a faster way to make medical, educational and financial decisions. Adoption takes a lot longer and he had a mother he still loved.

@lorimann1210 @tattilothi @yumcoconutmilk Where are you getting the info he was well-informed? Did he have has own lawyer who explained conservatorship to him? Or are you just believing the Tuohey’s story unquestioningly?

@lorimann1210 @tattilothi @yumcoconutmilk Or they could have just adopted him as they said they were going to which would have provided him oversight and rights. Conservatorships are traditionally used for people who are incapacitated physically or mentally and unable to make their own decisions. This was not the case.

@TheJMo78 @tattilothi @yumcoconutmilk I'll wait until all the information comes out. They had no idea the story would become a money making movie when they opened their home. A conservatorship allowed them medical, educational and financial oversight. All of which was needed for college.

The audacity of this white lady policing how I should speak in order for it to be "welcomed" by her 😂😂😂 Do white ladies like this make other white ladies sick? I can't imagine how you tolerate hos like this 🤣🤣🤣
Tammy@Tammy36822203

@Sarahmango23 @afrosabi Valid point. However I’m not aware of any white dems attacking her. A better response could have included citing such instances which I would have welcomed. I prefer to be educated on such matters as opposed to name calling.

This is a beautiful letter from Fiona Apple explaining to her fans why she must postpone a concert date. I am impressed at the way she was instantly able to make the decision to choose love over her career. Indeed, the world needs more of this. Enjoy the story... “It's 6pm on Friday, and I'm writing to a few thousand friends I have not met yet. I'm writing to ask them to change our plans and meet a little while later. Here's the thing. I have a dog, Janet, and she's been ill for about 2 years now, as a tumor has been idling in her chest, growing ever so slowly. She's almost 14 years old now. I got her when she was 4 months old. I was 21 then — an adult, officially — and she was my kid. She is a pitbull, and was found in Echo Park, with a rope around her neck, and bites all over her ears and face. She was the one the dogfighters use to puff up the confidence of the contenders. She's almost 14 and I've never seen her start a fight, or bite, or even growl, so I can understand why they chose her for that awful role. She's a pacifist. Janet has been the most consistent relationship of my adult life, and that is just a fact. We've lived in numerous houses, and joined a few makeshift families, but it's always really been just the two of us. She slept in bed with me, her head on the pillow, and she accepted my hysterical, tearful face into her chest, with her paws around me, every time I was heartbroken, or spirit-broken, or just lost, and as years went by, she let me take the role of her child, as I fell asleep, with her chin resting above my head. She was under the piano when I wrote songs, barked any time I tried to record anything, and she was in the studio with me, all the time we recorded the last album. The last time I came back from tour, she was spry as ever, and she's used to me being gone for a few weeks, every 6 or 7 years. She has Addison's Disease, which makes it more dangerous for her to travel, since she needs regular injections of Cortisol, because she reacts to stress and excitement without the physiological tools which keep most of us from literally panicking to death. Despite all this, she's effortlessly joyful & playful, and only stopped acting like a puppy about 3 years ago. She is my best friend, and my mother, and my daughter, my benefactor, and she's the one who taught me what love is. I can't come to South America. Not now. When I got back from the last leg of the US tour, there was a big, big difference. She doesn't even want to go for walks anymore. I know that she's not sad about aging or dying. Animals have a survival instinct, but a sense of mortality and vanity, they do not. That's why they are so much more present than people. But I know she is coming close to the time where she will stop being a dog, and start instead to be part of everything. She'll be in the wind, and in the soil, and the snow, and in me, wherever I go. I just can't leave her now, please understand. If I go away again, I'm afraid she'll die and I won't have the honor of singing her to sleep, of escorting her out. Sometimes it takes me 20 minutes just to decide what socks to wear to bed. But this decision is instant. These are the choices we make, which define us. I will not be the woman who puts her career ahead of love & friendship. I am the woman who stays home, baking Tilapia for my dearest, oldest friend. And helps her be comfortable and comforted and safe and important. I need to do my damnedest, to be there for that. Because it will be the most beautiful, the most intense, the most enriching experience of life I've ever known. When she dies. So I am staying home, and I am listening to her snore and wheeze, and I am revelling in the swampiest, most awful breath that ever emanated from an angel. And I'm asking for your blessing. I'll be seeing you. Love, Fiona”

@mathildamoo @afrosabi My old one told me I was only gaining weight because I drank one soda a day, but finally did the test. He was annoyed to be proven wrong when it came back as hypothyroidism …

I swear doctors act like they gotta come out THEIR pocket when you request certain tests. I have extreme fatigue. I requested a hormonal, vitamin/mineral deficiency, cortisol blood test etc.... I don't want to hear why I don't need it... gimme peace of mind even if it ain't it

@ViPuhstushyn @afrosabi @KDCoug88 I’ve had this too. My “normal” looks super hyperthyroidic, but I don’t lose weight or have any hyperthy. symptoms. But decrease meds, and I go hypo so fast. There’s some research out there that people should be treated for symptoms, not numbers.

@afrosabi @TabooBooSF They tell all women that fatigue and/or pain are depression or stress (or ovulation). Took me 8 years for a fibro diagnosis, took my MIL 5 years for an MS diagnosis, and so on. My husband goes in with pain, they believe him. Hope you feel better soon!

@QueenMab87 Plus, I would argue honoring your own family name looks very different depending on your background.

@QueenMab87 I took my stepdad’s last name as a kid because I wasn’t close to my bio dad. It was a hard name to pronounce and husband’s was easy, so I took his. For me it was MY preference of what I liked, not to “uphold the family name.” To me, choosing what I want IS feminism.

@tattilothi @lorimann1210 @yumcoconutmilk It’s even worse than that - they f*CKING LIED. Adult adoption is allowed in TN. But it would have given him rights as if he really was one of their kids. Not just lip service that he was family while they took advantage.
