Data Lens, A Nutanix service, now offers enhanced ransomware protection where file access patterns are used to detect threats and optionally block the clients and users behind the attack. Looking for the next needle in your haystack? Check out Data Lens. sprou.tt/1Eai7boAG1z

I spent a great deal of time in higher ed trying to make budgets work and still provide great services to the schools. I wish I had #Nutanix back then to help me reach my goals. sprou.tt/1XT4gUM1Uah

I picked up a part time weekend job with Apple to stand in Best Buy and be an Apple rep for the iMac. It was a tough sell because BestBuy refused to sell any Mac software. People went to Circuit City and bought there.

We need to decide as a society if adults who are not convicted of crimes have bodily autonomy or not. Because otherwise this seems like assault and a violation of 4th amendment rights. Not that the ninth circuit ever cares about things like those.

This week, a federal court decided that police officers can *make* you unlock your phone, even by physically forcing you to press your thumb against it. reason.com/2024/04/19/app…

If security is your #1 priority you won’t ever get anything else done. Hell, you won’t even have computers, and if you did they certainly wouldn’t be accessible on a network.

@frunkisbaldwin @LoveRetroBTW Exactly my experience. Looked so damn cool but at that time quarters were in short supply and I had to maximize my fun. This game looked so damn cool though.

@rowancrowe @sysadafterdark What about a webhost that’s a registrar? @DreamHost does a pretty decent job of both.
English

@sysadafterdark As someone who's been on the internet for far too long, it still seems really weird to decide to host a website with a DOMAIN NAME REGISTRAR...?
That would be like a psychologist diversifying by offering dental services
English

@duball69 @sysadafterdark Wow that sucks. Suggestion from an infrastructure architect - follow the 3,2,1,0 backup rule. Three copies of your data (production counts as one), in two mediums, one of them offline or immutable. Zero errors on the backup process. God speed on recovering/rebuilding!
