Look, I’ll be the first to admit I don’t understand Texas politics as well as many—I’ve only been here 8 years and there is a lot that is still mystifying. But what I’ll never understand is how some Republicans think it’s a good idea to give Dems Committee Chairs in the #txlege

The constitutional law podcast I listen to is obviously Advisory Opinions. What are the other ones people like? I’m reading about a case from a few years ago that AO didn’t cover and want to hear commentary about it.

In a state where 47% of voters chose Republicans last cycle, Democrats' redistricting plan would have given them 91% of Virginia's congressional seats in Washington. Watch Virginia closely. Young Voices alumn Justin Evan Smith (@TheJustinEvan) says this is just the opening act. Via @DailyMail 🔽

Eric scooped me. Two landmark election law wins in favor of the Missouri First Map from the Missouri Supreme Court. Very proud of my team; the advocate at the podium never does it alone!
Eric W.@EWess92

Twin wins for @AGCHanaway & @CitizenCapozzi defending Missouri's new fair maps. First, plaintiffs argued that the new maps should not go into effect due to a pending referendum. Second argued the map is unconstitutional. Both challenges fail. Important wins for election integrity

So now that everyone has seen the disappointment of attempts to squeeze out a bit more federal power and the risk that it might be used against you... can we all agree we should give federalism a shot and limit the federal government to just its specifically enumerated powers?

There’s a real lesson in what I would call this “Katyal debacle” a lesson that almost certainly will go unlearned.

Spencer Pratt grew up in the same California that I did-- before four decades of mass migration and incompetence left-wing governance turned it to a dystopian hellhole everyone is leaving. I'm not sure if he can win, but it's hard not to relate to his desire to reclaim a California that seems like ancient history.

“This is not just one incident. It's just the latest in a string of incidents on campuses across the country.” At yesterday’s FedSoc event, Judge Ho argued episodes like what happened at UCLA Law reveal a deeper crisis in legal education: “Too many law schools have stopped teaching students how to be good citizens, let alone good lawyers. Too many institutions of legal education have become incubators of intolerance.”
