Our thoughts are with Paul & family on the sad passing 12 year old @MerPolDogs RPD Victor (Merpol V litter). Victor was a General Patrol Dog from 2015 - 2021 (along with his littermates brothers). He lived with his handler after retiring 💔

Sad news to share this morning as we announce the passing of RPD Eva at 13 😔
Eva worked with the @MetTaskforce & received the @PDSA_HQ Order of merit, as well as many police awards in her service.
Our thoughts are with Eva’s handler & family at this difficult time.

It’s been a busy week post @Crufts and we have been supporting a member of the NFRSA family who served with @NorthantsPolice and @northantsdogs for his entire career, & who’s had a very scary few days.
RPD Rocky fell seriously unwell two nights ago, but thanks to his devoted handler and now Dad Charlie’s expertise, he knew the signs and recognised the symptoms of a stomach torsion, so he knew what to do.
Those two words strike fear into the heart of any dog owner, if not caught it can be fatal - but thanks to Charlie’s quick-thinking and even faster actions in taking him straight to the emergency vets, who confirmed the worst, there was hope.
It was a long and complicated surgery as Rocky was discovered to also have an enlarged spleen, so that had to be removed, before he could be put back together again.
We were all on tenterhooks and constantly on WhatsApp for updates, but at 1.30am the good news came he was past the worst.
In true Rocky style, he got through the night and last evening was allowed to go home to his very relieved Dad.
A check up today, and a few follow-ups to come, it looks like Rocky will be boxing this fright into the middle of next week, but as every dog owner knows, torsions can return, so we wait and pray he will stay well.
Rocky is tired, has slept all day, but thanks to some TLC, he is looking a bit perkier this evening - so we send all our love to this gorgeous lad, and to Charlie who possibly owns a few more anxiety lines!
Massive sigh of relief all round.

We are very sad to share RPD Zeus from @cheshirepolice recently passed over Rainbow Bridge.
Zeus, a stunning black German Shepherd, served with the @NWPolice and Cheshire Police Dog Section Alliance for 5 years and 9 months, and was an exceptional partner to his handler.
On one occasion, he tracked and helped apprehend a suspect who had been on the run for several weeks - this was typical of Zeus, he never gave up.
He retired in 2024 to a lovely family who gave him a wonderful life - he was loved to bits.
Last September we supported Zeus when he needed some help, and we will be there again for his family this one final time.
At the time Steve his Dad sent us a lovely message:
‘His grant means so much to us. As obviously he is an older dog with a few bits of wear and tear. It means there is someone else out there to help him if needed.
We really appreciate what you all do for us as a family, it means a lot knowing we can get support for him when needed.’
Our thoughts and love go to Zeus’s devoted family, and his former handler.

Chums! Baby Dog here. Yesterday we asked you to tell us how you watch our videos. That was because we don’t usually film in Portrait Mode. As a trial, Mum took me out yesterday and filmed me in Portrait. Here is the result. Please tell me if you like it.
*WARNING! The video didn’t turn out as planned. Mum did not expect me to do what I did. In my defence, I didn’t realise the water was there and I did try to wash myself in the stream afterwards. I was FILTHY!!!

From mom: with a sad and heavy heart, I have to pass along the news that sweet, spicy, Mabel is with us no longer. While the vet was pulling an abscessed tooth, they found a golf ball sized tumor in her jaw. There was nothing they could do for her.
