#OPVANGUARD | Yesterday you saw our activity, today we can give you the results 💪 ➡️ 68 people were arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, domestic abuse, possession of indecent images, drug importation, criminal damage, drug driving, car theft and much more. ➡️ Eight people have been charged with a variety of offences including drug dealing, theft, handling stolen goods, assault and more. We also seized and recovered ⬇️ •Three machetes •One imitation firearm •Class A and B drugs •Thousands of pounds of cash •18 stolen or illegal vehicles including e-bikes •Large quantities of counterfeit money, cigarettes, and designer watches •One cannabis farm in a residential street dismantled The eight people charged (five men and three women) will appear in court soon and you can read who they are on our website - orlo.uk/0u9Ce Around 300 police officers flooded the area of #Anfield, conducting warrants, roadside checks, land searches and more in a sustained and relentless offensive against criminals operating in our local communities. Chief Constable Rob Carden said the operation would make a big difference to the lives of decent, law-abiding people and more was to come 🗣️ “The huge scale and impact of yesterday’s operation should have left criminals in absolutely no doubt – Merseyside Police has a complete contempt for criminality and if you are involved, we will turn up at your door, we will stop you in your car, and we will arrest you. “And if anyone thinks they can profit from criminality, they can think again, because we will take any cash, clothes, jewellery and watches we suspect have been paid for with ill-gotten gains. Crime most definitely does not pay. “People in #Merseyside can expect to see a series of more focussed operations in the near future, as well as more Operation Vanguards elsewhere in Merseyside. Our work to bring criminals to justice and protect our communities continues 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.” For more on #OpVanguard visit the news pages of our website.
