Yesterday we sadly said goodbye to retired PD Falco after a short illness. Licensed in 2017, Falco served Merseyside Police with strength, drive and unwavering loyalty until retiring in 2023, spending years alongside handler Steve protecting the public. Run Free, Falco 💙🐾

Last night another male on an illegally adapted high-powered bike thought he’d evaded capture after making off from officers & disappearing. He thought wrong, PD Ziggy arrived & tracked the males movements before locating him trying to hide. #anotherforthecrusher #OPGEARS 🚲 👏

Earlier this week PD Poppy & her handler received a Chief Constables commendation for their actions and bravery during a serious incident that occurred within a Hospital in Newton-Le-Willows in December 2025. Well done team, fully deserved 🙌 👏 #outstandingwork

In the early hours 2 males in a vehicle were acting suspiciously before they walked away as police arrived. Once detained PD Ziggy set about searching 1st locating a quantity of Class A drugs discarded by the driver before locating his car key that he’d tried to hide in bushes👏

Last night a male thought he could out run @NPASNorthWest on a high powered E Bike capable of 60mph. Taking to footpaths he thought he was untouchable. He didn’t count on PD Ziggy & his handler deploying their own #TPAC tactics with Ziggy enforcing his swift arrest 🦷👏 #OPGEARS

Following a report of suspects making off, PD Harley was deployed in her first week on duty. With the offenders running into the arms of officers, up stepped Harley—searching woodland and locating a discarded balaclava and cannabis linked to them.🐾 Good Girl #arrested#PoliceDogs

🚓🐕 PD JoJo & handler deployed to a fail‑to‑stop in St Helens involving a high‑powered e‑bike. After a 20+ min track through dense woodland, JoJo located the bike and then the male hiding in undergrowth in possession of a hammer. Outstanding result for a brand new dog team! 👏

Earlier today PD Reggie assisted patrols searching a compound full of abandoned / destroyed vehicles. During the course of his search Reggie located a quantity of cannabis that had been concealed in the fuse box within one of the cars #thenoseknows

Today marks the end of week 1 for our newest recruits Gary, Buzz & Dobbie on their Cash Drugs & Firearms detection dog course. Thanks to our hosts for today’s training @WidnesRL Both Gary & Dobbie celebrated their 1st birthday today with cousins Buzz’s 1st birthday next week 🥳

Last night 2 males tried to steal items from a building site in St.Helens before making off. PD Ziggy tracked the pair for 40 minutes & over a mile locating 1 within thick undergrowth. He was also wanted on a recall to prison. The 2nd male then quickly presented himself 👏 👌

After 3 males fled from ARVs PD Ziggy arrived & tracked 2 of the males through Kirkdale cemetery & later into an alleyway. They then broke cover but ran into cops on the containment. Ziggy confirmed the reason why they ran identifying a large machete discarded under a car 🔪 👏

Last night PD Ziggy & co worked closely with @MerPolTraffic & @NPASNorthWest in the pursuit of a dangerous driver making outrageous threats. RPU used tactics to stop the vehicle on M53 & when he fled on foot we deployed Ziggy.The male threw in the towel when faced with 42 teeth👏

Huge congratulations to PDs Harley, JoJo and Lykos, along with their handlers, who have successfully passed a 13-week GPD initial course. From first steps to operational standards, their hard work and teamwork have paid off. A great achievement for all involved. #PoliceDogs

Last night a wanted male fled from officers sparking a 6 hour manhunt. The male was later sighted as he made off into fields. PD Poppy was hot on his heels & tracked him for over a mile before she detained him hidden deep in undergrowth. Fantastic work Poppy 👏 #thenoseknows

TPD Maverick a 21 week old Dutch Herder was practicing his tracking and property indication work in the sun, look at his face after a well deserved drink for a job well done. Mav will be on his initial training course in 2027 but all the foundational training is well underway.

This week PD Ike assisted patrols in the Wirral following an attempted burglary at a house. The offenders fled leaving clothing behind before disappearing. Ike arrived and tracked the suspects movements before locating their discarded cutting tools in Bushes 👏 #thenoseknows

In the early hours 2 males attempted to steal a car in Prescot. When disturbed they panicked & fled through gardens into the estate. Although they made good, PD Ziggy didn’t give up & tracked the pair before locating their discarded clothing hidden in a bush #DNA #CSI 👏 🧥

Last night we were called to reports of 3 males attempting to steal from HGV trailers on a storage site. Although the males managed to escspe PD Ike located their discarded angle grinder used to gain entry before tracking their movements for some time. Enquires on going #CSI 👏

Last night a male fled from a cannabis farm before garden hopping. He thought he’d escaped but he was wrong. Guided by eyes in the sky the male suddenly came face to face with not 1, not 2 but 3 of our Police Dogs all from 3 different directions!👏 Ziggy, Ike & Yula #gameover
