@lucyintheskyV I genuinely don't think any budgeting would have helped her. F&B says the coffers are completely empty. She had to generate vast amounts of wealth quickly. The only ways to do that are heavy taxes and/or loans.

@TheLordofMelons another free city. Budgeting better when funds were low also would have been helpful to her, to make the funds she did have last longer. I don’t disagree that Aegon would have done the same, he isn’t anymore competent than Rhaenyra, he simply had better advisors.

There are a number of other ways she could have recouped the funds that were lost but like her y’all lack cunning and creativity 😔

@lucyintheskyV She only had firm control over KL. The rest of the realm was at war. It's very difficult to arrange the logistics of taxation when a chunk of the continent is in open opposition to you. I don't think Pentos or Volantis are known for loaning money, gifts sure.

@lucyintheskyV There's really no way she could have recouped the funds without levying more taxes which are always unpopular. It was a smart move by the Greens but I don't think any of her decisions financially were any different than what Aegon would have done in the same position.
