The urban Yoruba Gen-Z, particularly those born into the post-OBJ era, were raised on a steady diet of social media-driven anti-Yoruba rhetoric. The result is a generation taught to develop disdain for their Yoruba culture and to view their heroes as villains.
They have been fed prejudice-laden narratives often rooted in political agendas and ethnic stereotypes weaponised to systematically diminish Yoruba culture and people.
Most concerning is the revisionist treatment of figures such as Awolowo, Fela Anikulapo, and Wole Soyinka, whose historical legacies are being actively demoted in the public consciousness by these pervasive false narratives.

🚨🗣 Thierry Henry on Manchester United vs Liverpool:
“Everyone had Liverpool FC ahead of Manchester United at the start of the season, better performances, better manager… but look at things now, it’s flipped.
If Manchester United were in the Champions League, I genuinely believe they’d outperform Liverpool. European nights just fit Manchester United’s mentality.
They even created an extra UCL spot for English teams and Liverpool could still miss out. That’s not progress, that’s instability people are choosing to ignore.”

What is their manifesto?
Will they bring back fuel subsidy?
Will they reverse the floating of the naira?
Will the unification of the exchange rate in both the official and parallel markets be reversed?
Will they cancel the student loan which everyone has attested to that a student does not have to know anyone to enjoy it?
Since Tinubu became president, four a four year study in federal universities has been four years. Since May 29, 2023 that he took over tue reign of government, ASUU has down tools only for nine days and finally, not even a day any longer as attention has now turned to non academic staff.
Will they take us back to the days when a four year course will take not less than 6 yearss if the students are lucky?
Will state governments and even federal government start borrowing to pay salaries as it was the case in our not too far past under the two successive government that proceeds the Tinubu administration?
Will they take Nigeria back to the IMF debt list?
What about the 411% (four hundred and one percent) increase in non oil revenue since May 2023 that Tinubu became president?
Will they take the country back to the 97% debt service-to-revenue ratio Tinubu inherited but which he has reduced to 50% in less than 3 years in office?
Daily oil production was barely 1 million barrel per day when he came on board, it has since increased to 1.68 million barrel per day due to improved security in the oil producing areas. Will they reverse that too?
What about the boom this administration has brought to the Nigerian stock markets which has caused it to rise from an all-share index of 55,000 points in May 2003 to 142,000 points as of September 26, 2025?
The federal government’s health budget has risen by 60 per cent over the past two years.
Will they reverse that?
Under the Renewed Hope Health Agenda, N68bn for vaccine procurement has been approved, released, and transferred to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency. In addition, outstanding liabilities of N500bn have been settled, creating greater fiscal space for health spending.
The nation witnessed a 55 per cent reduction in maternal mortality in MAMII local government areas, while public sentiment regarding the health sector is shifting from pessimism to optimism. Over 60,000 health workers trained nationwide, improving confidence and quality of care.
In 2025, health insurance coverage expanded from three per cent to over 11 per cent during the year under review, representing more than 21.1 million Nigerians enrolled across Basic Health Care Provision Fund channels. BHCPF allocation was N131bn in 2024 and is expected to reach N298bn in 2026, enabling states and local governments to achieve more in primary healthcare delivery.
To be reversed and replaced with what?
Will the three federal government oncology centers in Katsina, Enugu and Edo equipped with advanced diagnostic and radiotherapy technology be canceled?
I am aware that Obi said that the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway is a waste and his fellow coalitionist, Amaechi also said that he will cancel it if elected but what about
the Sokoto-Badagry super highway,
the 284-kilometre Kano-Kastina-Maradi rail project and the Kaduna-Kano rail line are nearing completion,
the Trans Sahara road spanning through Cross River - Ebonyi - Benue - Kogi - Nasarawa - Abuja, which is 465km: 118 km by 3 lanes or 59 km by 6 lanes in Ebonyi State - South,
the BUA Tax Credit road passing through Jigawa, Katsina, and Kano States: 256 km dualized (512 km). Project redesigned and constructed on rigid pavement,
the Kano Northern Bypass: 49 km is being constructed by CCECC,
the ongoing Bama and Dikwa roads (49+51= 100 km) by Dangote Tax Credit in Borno State,
the Borno Ring Road: 110 km is being constructed by CCECC,
the 76 km Malando road in Kebbi State is being constructed by Episolyn Nig Ltd,

Look ahead in the horizon on that way to Abeokuta, the 30km stretch from the interchange to Siun is factories left and right.
1km in both directions reserved for industries and all has been completely purchased and ratified by private investors.

Just look at Mushin Local Government @TunbosunAruwe, trying to seriously change the narrative about Mushin, fixing roads and drainages. One day, low-brow areas/ex ghettos will look as good as high-brow areas. All these houses you’re seeing, once the infrastructure is fixed, realtors will move in. Before you know it, people will start buying and rebranding properties, and prices will rise significantly.
This shows that a local government chairman who wants to work will work; one who doesn’t want to work will keep making excuses. Why is Mushin’s chairman making efforts to keep the environment clean and well-developed, while places like Kunsela, Agungi, and other high-rent areas, where rents go as high as N10–N15 million, are heavily flooded 247 due to broken drainages with little being done? @Etiosalga @etiosaeast
The takeaway is simple, keep holding local governments accountable. When local governments do their part and the state government supports them by fixing their oen portions of the roads, everywhere can become clean, livable, and well-maintained.
I also want to commend the administration, especially David Umahi, for rehabilitating many of Lagos’s federal bridges. If Falomo Bridge falls under federal responsibility, it would be great to see it rehabilitated as well, repainted, with improved railings.
At the same time, the state government should intensify efforts to fix state roads. While some work is ongoing, all existing state roads need proper attention. @LASGWorks @seunosiyemi_ @Engr_FDarams @jidesanwoolu

I’m also looking forward to seeing which local governments will emerge as the top three and win the N10 million grand prize on April 25.👌🔥
