I'm completely bearish on @variational_io Previously, I was quite bullish because they had a unique mechanism compared to their competitors, namely "Loss Refunds," but now they're removing that. I can conclude that Variational no longer has a unique selling point. Day 470: Here’s how I made $4.8K buying YES shares for Backpack to reach over $200M FDV. I’m writing this about 1 hour before resolution. $BP is trading around $0.198. One wallet (“KKstone”) is currently holding 622K shares worth of YES shares. Here’s where it gets interesting: It only takes around $15K to push $BP above a $200M FDV. Do you really think he’s going to let a $540K+ position go to zero when he can just buy $15K spot to secure the win? Paradex, Backpack, and even A-tier perps with the largest daily volume like EdgeX (Polymarket indicates it could be under $600M or even lower) show that the market doesn’t appreciate this points farming model. Projects that reward users without farming them through points, and instead reward genuine activity, might have better FDV. That’s the reality. And how many perps are there today… 500? By the end of the year it could be 1,000. Now making a perp is almost like making a meme token. Need users? Just add a points system, pay some stupid KOLs, and there you go. It’s starting to get silly.

2.5 months ago, @Backpack at $700M FDV was priced by the market as almost a sure thing. Even $1B had real odds. Now the discussion is whether it can even hold $200M FDV into tomorrow. That’s the reality of delaying TGE forever while acting like launch valuation doesn’t matter. It matters more than most teams want to admit. By the time they finally launch, hype is dead, expectations are crushed, and the market has already moved on. How do you feel about future perp launches from here?
