I’ve had so many rejections this year from editors who told me that they liked my pitch, but due to layoffs of editors and fact checkers, they don’t have the staff to be able to run it. I’m devastated that I had to let the border story I’ve been pre-reporting for 3 years die

@MissLoreleiLee As someone experiencing elder poverty after decades of hard work, I'd say it goes beyond merely thinking we don't matter. Public policy seems skewed toward making more of us die sooner to the noble cause of tax cuts for the 1%.

Serious question, do they think poor people don't matter? Do they know folks are living outdoors, dying from no healthcare, kids dropping out of schools, older adults working themselves into the ground bc they can't afford to retire? I truly don't understand

@officialukap @NicoleRPrause This is spot-on. I have had to deal with Prof. Dines in person, as she shows up at XXX trade shows to harass and intimidate performers. Her ranting is 100% fact free. Her act is about selling her books and getting paid lecture gigs. She abuses sex workers whenever she can.

@NicoleRPrause Gail, like her anti sex counterparts have figured out there is just as much money to be made from the knee jerk reactions of those who hate porn as much has she does. Facts are not central to her success in selling over priced courses in sex addiction.

As an academic who is regularly contacted by media about the science of pornography, this does not happen. If you have science, you cite it. I see no science cited in her puff piece, but I have serious concerns about the manosphere anti-porn groups she has promoted repeatedly.
