My first real big movie I was working with Jeff Daniels, Ellen Burstyn, Jon Voight and most of my stuff was with Michael Imperioli. One day, we were finishing up a scene and they were about to turn (the cameras) around on me to shoot my lines. The assistant director told Michael that he could go home because he’s wrapped for the day. (He would be off camera so the AD would read his lines for me). It was my first real movie so I was too shy to say anything. Micheal was in his car about to leave set when he heard I was still shooting. He insisted on coming all the way back to set and reading with me off camera after he had been asked to go home. That is an actor’s actor. From that day on (21 years ago!) I modeled my respect for the craft off of his example.
