Where do the voters themselves land in your mind? Do voters have any responsibility for the choices they make and the outcomes they cause by their choices? If you guys want the leverage you seem to be asking for in these elections, you need to honestly identify what it is that actually gives you leverage. Leverage means “I can hurt you unless you do X.” The hurt in this spot is lowering democrats’ chances of winning…by helping republicans win. Own that or stop claiming that you have leverage because that comes with responsibility for the choices you make.

As I understand things, the online left believes that the DNC autopsy would reveal that Gaza was the reason Kamala lost. They seem to *want* this to be true. That is odd to me because I’m not sure why any rational person with a moral center would want credit for Trump winning.

I was never in the military. Read the profile. My son was a USMC Officer (once a Marine always a Marine) and now he’s in the private sector, like I was for thirty years. He never profited from theft - he protected people like you who couldn’t fight for themselves. No thanks necessary nor expected. I was a scientist for 30 years, and solved problems that most people couldn’t. That’s why they paid me well. I invested my money, and now live on the investments. You had nothing to do with that, so you do not deserve any share of the gains on my investments, since I take all the risk and you take none of it. That said, I choose to invest in my community, and donate to causes like animal shelters that I think are worthy. It’s my call, not the government. What makes you think the government can spend my money better than I can? What makes you think you deserve any of my money??

So, in your worldview, someone who is paid for their efforts is stealing, even when those efforts involve tremendous self sacrifice and risk of his life to protect you. Got it. Do you make a distinction between those who passed the law to levy the tax and the public servant who receives it as salary for protecting you? Didn’t think so. The socialist worldview and culture requires you to measure your misery by how much someone else has. Stable and balanced people don’t care how much someone else has. We just measure our happiness relative to what we achieve and how we treat people, and how we care for those who depend on us. Socialists will never understand this, because you are brainwashed to see everything through the lens of class struggle. You busy yourself with some moralistic version of wealth distribution, to create “social justice”, or whatever, which conveniently relieves you of the burden of ever working on yourself or achieving anything relative to your potential. Meanwhile, capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any economic system in history, by far.

Of course they have taxation. Income, wealth, capital gains, and estate taxes are straight up theft at gunpoint. But since income tax is never going away, and governments refuse to reduce their spending, a flat income tax is far more fair than a progressive tax schedule, which punishes people for effort and success. Use taxes are different- the consumer has a choice over what he chooses to buy. They are voluntary. Private property, which Socialists hate, rightfully belongs to the individual who worked for it, and gifts of property from one person to another are the same. My property, my choice on its disposition. Socialism is the politics of envy and theft, where everyone is assured an equal share of misery. (Churchill).

Yes Hitler was anti-Marxist, but used the term National Socialist - why? It was propaganda to appeal to workers, promising profit sharing and nationalization of industry, which of course was largely abandoned as soon as power was consolidated. It’s notable that “democratic socialism” is like “humanitarian cannibalism”. It does not really exist in practice. It’s just a term to make gullible and envious people think there is something noble about a system that legalizes theft, erases the individual, and invariably descends into a regressive oligarchy. You vote your way in, you shoot and bleed your way out. Every time.

It’s completely reasonable to admire the ideal of an economic model while acknowledging the reality that every scaled attempt resulted in a totalitarian nightmare. He wrote outstanding satire to vent what he thought of Lenin/Stalin and Hitler, who all led populist movements under the banner of Marxism, and we know how those turned out. Mao did the same later. These examples outraged Orwell, and he wrote unforgettable satire to make his point. He still lived the theory, but hated the reality. He could distinguish between intentions and actual results. Modern day Democrats and other Marxists lack this capacity. They refuse to learn from history, preferring instead to rewrite it, engage in propaganda, and dismiss objective reality. They advance their agendas under the guise of “equality” and “social justice”, but once in power immediately live like oligarchs, looting the largesse of what everyone else worked for and paid into the collective. The modern Left are factually the people Orwell warned us about. Read the books again. You missed the point. While you’re at it, learn to distinguish between stated intentions and actual results. On the Left, there is a wide, wide valley between the two.

No, you did. Read the novels again. Animal Farm and 1984. They satirize what happens when Socialism is attempted on large scale. That’s not to say Orwell ever gave up on the ideal. He was just extremely angry at the examples of Socialism witnessed in his time, all of which inevitably and predictably deteriorated into totalitarian nightmares. Read the novels again.
