Theoretically numbers work out: 500k people paying for nothing, a team of <250 engineers / core staff. But with new social media sites and ways to disseminate information, and with brands and influencers stepping away, I think people will get bored of Twitter REALLY soon.

But fashion / CPG is really the only space that can get away with such nonsense long-term. And even within CPG, utility. So luxury fashion (i.e. the Diors, Rimowas, Louis of the world) is the only space that can do it frivolously.
