I have a problem @ZavenH. Cannot stop playing @diablo 4. At 44 years old i never thought id feel the same way i felt about Diablo2 back in its day but you guys really did it. So far i got necro, assassin, and SBorn to Torment. Rolling Sorc tonight. Send help

I’m curious… What do you consider to be a good build in Diablo IV and what are things that you look for when searching for a new build to try? S tier only? The most power and biggest damage numbers? Something fun even if it’s not giga strong in the highest Torments? Do tell!

The response to #LordofHatred is truly overwhelming. I'm not sure people understand how much fan/player response means to the development team. After 30 years making games, this is by far the most positivity I have seen over a release. We can't thank you enough for playing!

pros: - more endgame + the pit was giving d3 chills - art is nice cons: - updated skill tree is ok for first 40mins then its +1 skill, why no passives, or ability to customize skills more deeply? why is it so frontloaded? - paragon board needs rework, needlessly complicated whilst simultaneously lacking meaningful choices, its just another 𝑥 does 90% more damage - itemization needs rework, 𝑥 does 300% more damage 💀💀... resistance, armour, weapon stats just feel like ATTACK and DEFENCE (actual mobile game tier) - item power system. all gear feels like "equip UP Arrow" and replace every 2 seconds until you hit the 850 IP cap, then it becomes playable. - level scaling makes it so most of the time leveling up makes you weaker compared to monsters 💀 only gear makes you relatively stronger to monsters - story bloat, way too much filler for no reason, had to use willpower to stay locked in at points - lots of other minor things but lets be real nobody reading this far anyways Rating: D4 4.7/10 atm

Played D4 for one day and I'm pretty much done. Got to t10 on day 1. It's a shame the endgame hasn't changed. Just doing maps with 0 league mechanics, 0 mods and a timer. Itemization is also incredibly boring. I'll make a video on my thoughts, but more or less d4 hasn't changed.

@NeverSinkDev Maybe I need to finish Campaign to see what the War plans are about. Gt to 50 on a Paladin, and the tree is rather boring. Ended up in Helltides because I got sick of the campaign. Then got super bored of Helltides and came here to see what others were doing.

DIABLO 4 LOH - EARLY ENDGAME EXPERIENCES. This is my mini-review of the post-campaign up to torment ~2-3ish experience (still very early in the endgame progression). tl;dr: It's pretty damn good. The new loop is the old loop, but with a lot of the fat trimmed, pieces connected and customization added. THE GOOD - War Plans & Upgrades This is likely one of the two best features in the expansion (talismans being the other one) War Plans are HUGE. I love how they tie together a lot of different gameplay types and provide instant teleport/QOL. The trees also look great. I'm not far down the progression (2-3 points at most), but so far they're awesome. THE GOOD - A lot of activities. You have helltides, dungeons, pits, undercity runs, hordes and bosses and whisper-tree to tie them all together. Overall it's a great dopamine spiral. THE GOOD - Way better loot progression. You don't get flooded in legendaries, you work for your power early on, without it being too slow. Great balance by the devs. THE GOOD - A lot less open world grinding The rapport grinding and open world events were always some of the worst parts of the game. Thank god looking for lilith statues is not part of the new zone. THE MEH - Horadric cube. I may change my opinion later on, but while it offers a couple of handy options, it's not exactly very interesting. So far at least. THE MEH - A bit fidgety Every gear replacement means running around several NPCs doing a lot of tiny clicks. It's not a major issue, I don't have a solution, but it's not great. THE BAD - Skill Tree & Build Evolution This is controversial, but I'm not happy with the skilltree rework/paragon state. I find it really, REALLY boring. Since there are no passives, after level I ~40 was just dumping points. Any level after 55 pretty much didn't matter anymore in terms of skillpoints for my build. Since level 40, my build has barely evolved in terms of gameplay. Uniques changed it a bit, but overall everything is just a numbers go up game. Most warlock legendaries also just provided more damage instead of skill modifications. I'm crushing content, but the only realistic thing changing is numbers getting higher. Yes, the previous tree had its issues, but removing every single passive, including the ultimate passive is not an upgrade. Maybe I was not lucky with the legendaries/uniques. Maybe I'll feel differently in a day or two. I expect this will cause me to lose interest earlier. PERSONAL RATING - EARLY ENDGAME I'd give it a solid 8.5/10. I'm having a blast, the war plans are awesome and I can fully recommend it. I don't know how long this phase holds, but it's great! The fluent gameplay is very welcoming after the super clunky campaign (good story, good cinematics, terrible pacing). My main gripe remains that most of the build evolution stopped at level 40 for me. I'll make one final post in a couple of days, once I'm in high torment levels and am farming (empowered) bosses. What are your impressions? What do you think?

DIABLO 4 LOH - FINISHED CAMPAIGN (WARLOCK) FIRST IMPRESSIONS / CAMPAIGN RATING: This does NOT include the endgame, I'll make another post about it over the next days. Let me rip the band-aid right off. It's not great. THE GOOD - 20% OF THE CAMPAIGN Good cutscenes. Good dialogues, some plot twists. It felt like 'old blizzard'. Interesting returning characters. Most bossfights are pretty solid! I was very entertained during those parts! THE GOOD - TALISMANS It's a breath of fresh air for D4. It's not very complex and mostly serves as a stat stick, but I enjoyed engaging with it! THE GOOD - THE NEW TOWN Compact, with all important NPCs nearby. A great hub for the endgame later on. THE GOOD - WARLOCK SPECIALIZATIONS The 4 soulshard-demons you can bind are fun and flavorful! Each of them feels very distinct and imo they're by far the best bit of the whole class! THE MEH - WARLOCK RESOURCE Warlock uses the Demon Hunter D3 dual resource system... except it's worse in every way. You use one resource exclusively for 'Archfiends', essentially making it a nuke on a cooldown. The other one you'll likely be able to sustain near non-stop soon - making it a gear check.. THE MEH - WARLOCK 'ARCHETYPES It's an illusion of choice. Most archetypes corner you into a couple of skills/subskills and everything else just doesn't make sense. For instance, if you want to go Abyss/Shadowform, you basically are stuck with ~5-10 skills/subskills that make sense. Everything else just doesn't fit. May change in the endgame maybe. THE MEH - NEW ZONE Not memorable. Not terrible. THE BAD - TECHNICAL ISSUES 5+ crashes. I had to redo a lot of quests and areas. Dialogues and volume are a mess. NPC dialogues would frequently get completely cut out in the middle, during combat midsentence most of the time. THE BAD - THE 80% FILLER IN THE CAMPAIGN It's the WORST kind of filler. Slaying random mobs until something happens. Riding through zones of idle enemies, often very monotonous dialogues. WAITING - sometimes you wait for 5-20 seconds for the NPCs to get to the next 'phase'. I was actively yawning. The game would've been much better if they'd left the 20% good campaign bits and you'd simply have to fight through areas oldschool like in D2. THE BAD - SKILL TREEE ALL passives are gone. Yes, you get 3 major-subtypes of every skill now, instead of two, but was this trade worth it? For me personally: no. Absolutely not. I suspect this makes balancing the game a lot easier. It's also very boring. THE BAD - (SOME) VISUALS I dislike the look of many warlock skills. They look somewhat goofy. The demon-eye turret and 'Rampage' look like they escaped D3. Ironically I loved the D2R warlock visuals and it's sad to see them be so poor here. Graphically some 'new' enemies are D3 enemies repolished and feel a bit out of place. OVERALL RATING (UNTIL CAMPAIGN END) 5/10. Talismans are great. The campaign is 20% great and 80% terrible. Warlock is OK The new skilltree has no passives. The new zone is entirely forgettable. I'd like to note again that the endgame may be a lot better. I actually expect it to be a lot better. Did you play the new campaign? What is your impression? Do you agree with my POV?
