@deeptocenter I'm with you. Sadly, based on previous trade deadlines and on the offseason, I expect the Tigers to stand pat and maybe add some unwanted secondhand players. I fear they won't address the needs to either push for the playoffs or to be better in the future.

I won’t be mad if the Tigers choose not to sell but I will be mad if they choose not to sell and then also don’t buy anything except unwanted secondhand players like they did last year.

@cmccosky @detroitnews Cool that the guys liked him, I’m sure he was good for the locker room. But our identity right now is blowing leads and throwing away the best World Series chance we’ve had since Prince Fielder had neck mobility

@cmccosky @detroitnews It does hurt. They made room for someone who MIGHT hit a bit better than Jake to be a backup CFer. When Javy strikes out swinging on a slider 2 feet off the plate, remember that we gave up Jake for that.

@cmccosky That stinks. Hopefully, Javier will be a backup centerfielder who is a good ad Jake is a backup catcher. I wish I was more optimistic.

Jake Rogers has been DFA’d to clear space for Javier Baez. Eduardo Valencia becomes the backup catcher.

@VandyonTigers If your argument is that the Tigers have to be careful who they "hand over" centerfold to, they should be equally concerned about handing it over to 220 hitting/CF platoon Baez. Baez isn't superior to Clark in this conversation.

Good morning, Tiger fans. Win today. That’s all that matters. I’m tired of hearing this team doesn’t have enough offense. They do. Max Clark isn’t coming up, and he shouldn’t. If you’re serious about winning, you don’t hand center field to a rookie. You’ve already got your infield: Lee at third, McGonigle at short, Torres at second, and Torkelson or Keith at first. Go get a reliable closer. If you add a bat, make it a veteran rental center fielder who can help you win right now. And don’t forget, after the trade deadline there will probably be several reliable veteran outfielders who clear waivers and can help down the stretch. Don’t hand center field to a rookie when you’re trying to win a pennant. #DetroitTigers #RepDetroit #VandyOnTigers #VandyDandyReport

To celebrate Hall of Fame weekend, Tigers are wearing these throwback caps tonight thru Sunday. This was their primary look from 1918 to 1920.

@DetroitTankCity Considering that Harris hasn't had an adequate trade deadline yet, it's probably better to keep him than move him. Torres is a worthwhile RH bat, and there aren't too many of those in this team.

Is Gleyber a moveable piece at the deadline? I'd just worry you'd be selling low after a lengthy time out with injury. Hao-Yu Lee has earned the right to keep playing, and that's best accomplished at 2B. Just a thought exercise, anyway; my POBO is Scott Harris. Trades? 😂

Why is Wencel Perez still batting? How many standing strikeouts are okay in one game?!?

@TonyPaul1984 @bythewaybro No. He ran out of answers 3 weeks ago, and Hinch's boss doesn't speak to the press, so there are no answers and no respect for the fans. We knew this was coming when Harris said they were going to run out the 2025 team again.

@jasonbenetti #rainDelayQuestions who's your favorite Clevand play - ever? Also, I'm taking my dad to the game Thursday - can someone apply for a "wild Bruce chase"? It would make his day

@MLB @Mets Well, yeah. After you and your umpires continually screw the @tigers. There's a reason fans don't trust you.

AJ Hinch as mad as I've seen him. Ejected after a long video challenge came back as call stands. Gage Workman had a bad read on short fly to left and was thrown out at third. Looked like he got a hand in. 'Call stands' is not a favorite ruling for any manager

@cmccosky considering the ABS challenge controversy yesterday and now this, MLB and the MLBUA have to fix this, right? (not that I'm confident they will)

On this day in 1876 Chicago’s Ross Barnes hits the first @MLB homer, off Cherokee Fisher at Cincinnati. (Yes, the Chicago club wore fezzes, with differing stripes marking the different positions.)
